My thoughts

The four in the playoffs will be:

Ohio State - they really don't play anyone of note
TCU - The big 12 will get a spot this year since left out last year and TCU is best from that conference.
USC - Pac 12 champ will be in
Fourth spot goes to the SEC but it could be anyone of several teams (i'll say Auburn)

Long shot pick for playoffs - Texas A&M - if Chavis turns that defense around they have the offense to do it

It's that time of year again.....

Who do you see in the "four team playoff" come January?

Which team will be the most improved/biggest disappointment?

Will there be a "Cinderella" that crashes the party......or will it be "business as usual" for the traditional teams from the powerhouse conferences......your thoughts......

I predict that the Ohio State Buckeyes will win back-to-back National Championships (damn that Urban Meyer).  Joining them in the Final Four will be Auburn, TCU, and some 2nd SEC team (Georgia perhaps).

UCLA could crash the party, as could the Spartans of Michigan State, provided they can find a way to beat the Oregon Ducks, and the aforementioned Buckeyes in Columbus (a tall, tall task).

Biggest disappointments:  USC (somebody please hold an intervention on Sark), and my namesake-the University of Michigan (please prove me wrong Mr. Harbaugh).

I think that Michigan will be decidedly better than last year (can't get much worse....knock on wood)....hopefully Coach Harbaugh has changed the players mindset and reemphasized fundamentals (like not self-destructing); so that will hopefully result in avoiding too many dumb penalties and costly turnovers....I am not wearing "rose-colored glasses" however, and realize that they will not be team of old...yet.  It is my sincerest hope that the powers-that-be give (the former)#4 time to rebuild, and hopefully we will be back in the hunt by 2017 (?)

Anyhow, 1st game is this coming Thursday, I believe, in Utah...can't wait!

Go Blue!

....and remember to flush twice, it's a long way to Columbus....

I do believe that the team's focus, player development, and attention to detail, will be much better under Harbaugh.  But the number , and depth, of quality skill position players at U-of-M is a fraction of other top-notch national programs, let alone compared to the NFL factory down in Columbus.

Just take the "dilemma" that the Buckeyes are facing at the QB position this year.  Their top 3 QB's on the depth chart could start at practically any program in the country.  Urban Meyer coughs up at least two 5-Star recruits every time he clears his throat.  It will take at least 4-5 years (if at all), before the Maize and Blue can accumulate talented recruits that remotely come close to the talent level that plays in the Horseshoe.

I am hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, especially through the first 4 years.  I truly hope that I am wrong.

     GO BLUE!!!!
