Hi everyone!

As you might have picked up from some of my posts here, I am a big fan of sporting movies and documentaries, so I thought I might recommend a few - hopefully you have some suggestions too you'd be willing to share.

The most recent documentary I watched was No No: A Dockumentary, the story of Dock Ellis and how he pitched a no hitter while (allegedly) high as a kite. A truly fascinating story about a truly fascinating man. The ending in particular was very touching to me personally.

A personal favourite just because it is so different is Fire In Babylon, which is the story of the West Indies cricket team through the 70s, 80s and early 90s, and how they found their identity. I realise cricket is not a popular sport here but trust me, no cricketing knowledge is necessary to enjoy this film. An appreciation for political history and reggae though would go a long way.

I cannot recommend ESPN's 30 for 30 movies highly enough, the vast majority of which are available on youtube. I've mentioned Four Days In October here before (the Red Sox overturning an 0-3 deficit in the ALCS in... 2004? I suck with years), but really, they're all great. The Bo Jackson one (I'm drawing a blank on the name currently) is particularly good, in my opinion.

Anyone have any suggestions?

"Baseball" by Ken Burns was the one that came to mind when I read your title.

My tv turns on to ESPN
360 is also great

Has a series called "Yankeeography" it is a biography style ( I suppose you could call it a documentary also) show highlighting, of course Yankee players coaches etc.

Yeah what a surprise I would watch it and post about it it.

I do actually watch other networks too, such as ESPN, NFL, MLB and others.

Any Yankee in particular you'd recommend? Despite being a Mets fan, historically speaking the Yankees are a more interesting team, just by sheer volume if nothing else. Is it mostly current day players/staff or older?

There are 50 + in the series. They are all good, in my opinion, so it is difficult to pick one but My favorite is Yogi, because he is also my favorite player of all time.

The Yankeeography’s are a mix of current day and older, retired players, Torre, Ford, Catfish, Goose, Jeter, Rivera  and some who are not with us such as Ruth, Gehrig, Munson.

As I said in my opinion they are all good, except for the one, a-roid (the only active player in the series) in my opinion that dipwad does not deserve the honor of a Yankeeography.
