What do you make of all of this hoopla about the Cleveland Cavaliers and their payroll may end up being the highest in the league for the upcoming season?
Is Cleveland following the New York Yankees pattern of constantly "breaking the bank" in order to win championships?
Will that kind of philosophy work?
As of this writing... Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson, and Kyrie Irving (signed last year) are all under contract.
Only LeBron has not signed... yet. The question is for how much and how long?

I'd answer YES
I don't think anyone really cares about what team is the highest in the NBA as it is a capped league, unlike MLB which is a luxury tax league so in that sense, the Cavs can't be the Yankees.
Not understanding the "will that philosophy work" angle. It isn't a "philosophy" to keep your players when you come that close to a title and had two of their best players down with injury. It's a necessity.
Barring injury, I would be very surprised if the Cavs don't win the title next year.
... a "luxury tax league", but there is a luxury tax that is imposed on a team based on certain criteria.
I think the Cavaliers will be hit with the luxury tax just like the Brooklyn Nets were hit with one for the 2013-2014 season.
