American Pharoah wins the Belmont Stakes to be the first Triple Crown Winner in 37 years!

I still think that Secretariat was THE greatest race horse of all time. period!

Well my wallet didn't win, but considering I lost less than the price of an hour with a hooker, I suppose I can afford it in order to see the first Triple Crown Winner in decades.

I picked the  second choice and the second place horse to win, but at the meager odds AP paid, I hardly feel like I missed out on anything by not betting on him.

He was by far the superior horse, and without being pressed by the other speed horses in the race, AP cruised to an easy victory. I have nothing but respect for him. Which is more than I can say for the stalker who started this thread.

Great race, but Herpius is still a stalker who should have been booted from this and every other board years ago.

...vacation!

If one does not know the back story of Bob Baffert , growing up on the Mexico/Arizona border, he has indeed come a long way!

Warm regards,
Kelly

To put it in race track lingo, the race ran "true to form" and consequently didn't pay crap. Unless you had thousands at risk, you aren't going very far on what you won  yesterday.

Just kidding.

One thing I don't bet on is the horses. I probably should but I really don't know much about it.

Now Horseback riding on the beach sounds more up my alley :D

American Pharoah what a stud. At 3/5 odds it was basically a forgone conclusion.

Very exciting race; I was hooping and hollering at the TV-my wife probably thought I was crazy.  I wish I could explain why a horse race could mean so much to me, but it most certainly did.

I second the motion that Secretariat was the best ever...I was only 10, but I can still remember that horse's demolition of the field in the Belmont Stakes to win the Triple Crown...it was breathtaking.

I hope I don't have to wait another 37 years to see another Triple Crown.

Loved the calling of the race by Costas and I was jumping up and down in front of my tv and I had tears in my eyes at the finish!
