As far as races go, he came in 3rd once, 2nd twice, then won every other race. I  think 17???

He was such a show off. He was good AND he knew it!

Luvs the slop....one more at Belmont Park for history.

after 32 yrs. of no Triple Crown winners.

...horses who won the Derby & Preakness since Affirmed (37 years ago) but lost in the Belmont?  It's hard for a front-runner to win at a mile and a half.

37 years. Affirmed was the last in 1978. I grew up in Kentucky and we're required to know these things. I think he's got as good a shot as any that have come before. Going wire to wire on Saturday made a believer out of me.

...give his horse a breather down the backstretch and had plenty left for the stretch run.  In the Belmont, they won't let Espinoza dictate the pace.

There's always a non-believer on these boards....we'll see
I'm done discussing this with Bigpapasa

Back in 1978, the year I graduated from high school.  That was 37 years ago...

I still consider Secretariat to be the best TC winner that I actually saw win, at least on TV.  At Belmont, it was a blow-out 31 length victory, almost beyond comprehension.

That being said, I would bet against American Pharoah.  What's the point in betting unless you can win some decent money?
