yes i noticed it to but that is an athletic reaction. he does that all of the time. you cant decide in mid air youre not gonna try to score.

The refs strike again.

But that call cost me thousands on my second half bet with the over.

Sorry about your loss, I guess we can assume that you got "screwed".   Hopefully, in more ways than one!

Yeah, I think with that much time left, at home, and with the season on the line, the odds were pretty good that they would have still won.

but this doesn't even go into the top 1,000 list of all the times I've been screwed on a game. The list is also pretty long where it comes to screwy ways I have won bets as well. For anyone who gambles as much, as often, and as for as long as I have, you learn to roll with the punches or you'll end up either jumping off a tall building or shooting someone. I am a bit more philosophic about the whole thing.

Good philosophy.  I was at Lambeau Field 40 some years ago.  I can't believe I was actually leaving the stadium before the end of the game because it looked like the Packers were totally out of the game.   One of us had a transistor radio, and suddenly we could hear that somehow the Pack got back into the game and everyone who was exiting was now trying to get back into the stadium.   And we could tell by the crowd noise that something good was happening.

One time, I was in Vegas during a Monday night game; it was a total blowout and I actually saw some guys rip up their stubs and storm off in the third quarter.    I don't remember the specific game, but I do remember that they should have kept their stubs!   It was an unbelievable comeback.

NEVER give up, and never assume outcomes or expectations

there was still an eternity left in the game, plus keep in mind that although the Pack was simply trying to run out the clock, they easily could have scored in that last drive. If they hadn't have made that last first down, they would have most definitely scored again, which would have saved me about three fucking grand as I had GB -3/over 24 in the second half. I really got fucked as virtually any other outcome, including simply kicking the extra point instead of going for, and missing the 2 point conversion would have won that bet for me.

What is your take on next week's game?

but off the cuff I would say that I LOVE Seattle at home, as GB has been horrible on the road. I also have to like the other home team in the Pats, but the 7 points or so that they will be favored by, may change my mind by game time.

agree on Seattle giving the 7.5, I put money on Colts + 7 though I do hope Pats win, would hope the SB line would be close and then put $$$$ on Seattle

they call it that way every time. would the refs review if GB didnt have any challenges?

At least the refs got it right.  The rule is pretty clear, you have to maintain complete control of the ball when catching a pass--the ground can cause an in-completion (but not a fumble--makes little sense, but that's how it is.)

Good thing Green Bay had a challenge left.  If that call would have stood, and the Cowboys won--conspiracy theories would really have been flying.

I never like to see a big game decided by instant replay or the refs.

it should only count if the receiver is diving for it with his feet off the ground.

He was trying to be greedy and stretch out to get the touchdown.  And in doing so, he lost control of the ball.  Thus an in-completion.   That cost his team the game, in my opinion.

I guess the Cowboys fans can't complain.

That's when Dallas took Troy Aikman with the #1 pick, and the Packers took Tony Mandarich with the #2 pick.

We all know about Aikman....

if it weren't for the refs, Dallas players would have been refining their golf games, not playing in the Divisional Round in Green Bay.

They would have had the ball on the 1-yard line with 3 chances to pound it in.

this is an important point. he went for it trying to score.

what I don't understand is he had the ball secured in one hand when the ball contacted the ground, then the ball comes up and he catches it again while in bounds so the catch is no good?  I guess if the ball touches the ground it cannot move at all?

cashorcredit382 reads

but I don't know how the nfl interrupts the rule, to me it looked like a catch, however I think you have to maintain control when you're on the ground and when u get up.

When the ball popped loose, he no longer was in possession thus incomplete.

Right call, bad rule.
