Okay, a little humor is sometimes needed.

First, when a provider (will call her A) asks you for a reference, she basically wants to verify that you are a legitimate hobbyist, who will pay the requested donation and will not cause her any problems before, during or after the session. To that end, she is asking you to provide her with the name and contact information of another lady (Provider B) you have recently seen. Provider A will call Provider B to verify your legitimacy. Its a way for Provider A to be comfortable with wanting to set up an appointment with you.

Now if you are a newbie you may not have a provider reference to give. Don’t panic, all is not lost. You might suggest to the provider that you are willing to give her employment information instead. (i.e. so she knows you are not LE and are gainfully employed to pay her donation). Or, you might try and see an agency girl (agencies tend to not require references). Once you have seen a provider, than you can use that provider as your reference.

Of course if this doesn’t work for you, you will just have to find a provider who is willing to see you without references or employment information. (Not the best idea, but some ladies are desperate for the cash and will be lax on their screening)Once you see one of these ladies, than again, you now have a potential reference (if they remember who you are) to use.

Do not EVER view a provider who requests a reference from another lady as being difficult. To the contrary, view her as being smart and safe and someone who you should feel very comfortable seeing. The safety and security of the lady is paramount to the success of the hobby.

I went into the hobby with no knowledge at all. No one I knew had any info to give me either....at least I didn't ask around. You're smart to come here.

I remember when I called my first lady from a service listed online in Atlanta. She said, "who are your references"?. I said my what? She hung up on me.

I called back and said I am new to this. can you please tell me what I need to do to keep out of jail tonight?

She laughed and said sure. She told me that I needed to see someone willing to see a guy without  references first, then ask her if she will help me out from there.

At first I had to prove who I was and where i worked or at least some good info to make her feel safe.

It went pretty fast.

be careful.

Hardy's advice is great. I want to correct one potential misunderstanding. As he says, a good way to start is with escort services. However, usually escort services or the providers who work for them do not provide references. Some do, but I think most do not. (You actually don't want them recording any info about you.)  But if you see a few women through escort services, you can also take the additional step of posting reviews on TER. You can then point to your reviews as another assurance to independent providers that you are not LE. Nothing is foolproof, but you just sort of move your way up the ladder and before you know it you have sufficient references for any situation. The main thing is to be honest and respectful in your approach and let the provider know the information you do and don't have.

Another option is to join a referral service such as preferred411, date check, or RS2000.

I agree that for a newbie, a verification service, such as preferred411 or datecheck, is a really good way to go. Mine continues to assist me in avoiding any time-loss regarding verification.

Most providers want to know either, your work phone,(they may call your office with an inocuous question about you to verify you do work there)a reference from another provider, or a membership like here or GFE club etc.  Just send her your handle here so she can check you out, or ask if she's a member here and send her a text message using the mail box as proof.
