You definitely want to ask for the referral from your first provider. There have been several threads on these boards about this and that is the bottom line: ask first!

I would not be at all worried about any provider being unhappy about you seeing another - it is the nature of the hobby and any good provider will likely want to avoid having you (us) become too attached.

Actually, it was by the advice of my first that I  that I explore other providers. Im very happy she made the comment, and gave me her referral!

What if you have visited with one provider and would like to have a date with another in the same city.  Would the first give a reference or would she be upset that you are going to someone else in the same city?  What do you think?

The first thing you do is ask the first provider if she minds that you use her as a reference. Most providers won't mind at all, but some won't do it. Once you have her "go ahead" to use her as a reference then call the second provider (or email). Give her the verification information she requests including the reference from the first provider. Be sure to include the first provider's phone number to the second provider.

I don't know so much as providers get upset if you see another provider. I think they would love to have a good base of clients they can count on, but also have an influx of new guys for the spice and variety. You could just be one of the new guys for lots of ladies :)

is the end of our relationship.

you are under no obligation to us and we do not expect you to consider our feelings in the future.
that is what you pay us for.

to go away. no hassle.

the provider may say no or she might even ignore your request.. that happens.

but if a provider gets upset with you or gives you a hard time for asking her to give a reference, you might consider reporting her to your regional board as that is considered unacceptable behavior.

most of us realize that you arent going to be faithful to us.. we dont expect you to be.. but we want you to be safe and happy in your hobbying pursuits so that you can come back to us again one day so we're normally glad you're going about it the right way by asking us for a reference..

you might also mention to the provider to white list you.. most providers forget about that or dont do it unless you ask.
