To basically give Dallas that game is a fucking shame takes away from Dallas win.

Probably the worst officiated game I've ever seen.

I admit, I'm a homer Lion fan, but that picking up the pass interference call was absolute bs.

Earlier in the week, TMZ released a video of Jerry Jones's son Stephen partying with several people, including what appears to be Dean Blandino, the NFL's head of officiating. According to at least one person Jason La Canfora spoke to in the league, that is "definitely" him in the blue, skipping out of a Dallas Cowboys party bus.

On first blush, the video is not all that interesting. It's just Stephen Jones and his entourage hanging out with several women on a bus with a bunch of Cowboys logos on it on the Sunset Strip. NFL executives are livid, however, because Blandino is looking so chummy with a team executive and owner's son

how about the defense STOPS Dallas on 4th and 7?

The Lions won the wrong half. The 1st. Cowboys won the 2nd. Their defense has been better in the 2nd half of games all year.

But when the refs start determining outcomes of playoff games it makes me not want to bet on nfl games. One reason why I never bet NBA game

the refs didnt determine the game. Detroit's defense and the Dallas offense did.

Unless it's an obvious non call (i.e. other refs advising that there absolutely should be no penalty), I don't think a flag should be picked up. Ever. Refs should stick with their convictions. If you see pass interference, then throw the flag. Don't get "talked" out of the call.

On the play in question, they called pass interference. It certainly was more pass interference than not. Therefore, the flag should have remained.

Now, while any critical call in the 4th quarter will be magnified, did it cost the Lions the game? Of course not.  There are so many factors that go into the outcome of a game, that focusing on one missed call is silly. The Lions had so many chances (both on offense and defense) to make a play and close out the game....and they didn't

Detroit up 3 with the ball at the Dallas 30 yard line with time running out. There is no way the cowboys win that game without needing a miracle, if the refs don't cheat the lions. Yes there are things Detroit could've done to overcome the screw job, but it's not that simple when you're playing against a lethal offense like the Cowboys.  You can't screw a team out of points during a pivotal time in a game and say if didn't affect the outcome.

here was 8:25 left in the game and if the penalty stood, the Lions would have had a first down at the Cowboys 45 yard line.  Time was NOT running out. Nor were the Lions at the Cowboy 30 (which would have been in makeable FG range, though not a chip shot).

The refs didn't SCREW the Lions out of points. They "screwed' the Lions out of keeping the ball, taking time off the clock, and an opportunity to move the ball and possibly get more points.  That's it. We have NO idea what would have transpired with that much time left in the game.

Come on now. I agree it was a bad call and the Lions would have been in much better position to try and close out the game. But let's not make this the decisive factor. It wasn't. At the end of the day, Dallas got the job done.

to having to punt. Having to punt at that point diminished their chances of winning that game tremendously. If they finish the drive with a score which was likely, Dallas could potentially be down by 10 with maybe 4 or 5 mins left giving them basically no chance of winning.

The only" FACTS" that can't be disputed Detroit should've had the ball during a pivotal point in the game, instead Dallas high powered offense got the ball and scored. Whether that's a screw job well we can leave it up to the majority to figure that out.

they played it safe and elected to punt. The Cowboys otoh, went for it on 4th and 1 with the Murray touchdown and 4th and 6 with the Witten first down.

That's my whole point, and of course Dallas would go on 4th down they have the best ol in the NFL and Murray.

It's easy to say (and true) that one play should not determine the outcome, but the lack of penalty on the play in question did take one opportunity away from Detroit.  Should they have shanked the punt?  No.  Could they have stopped Dallas?  They had chances.  Could they have scored after Dallas?  They had a chance.  But, they got screwed out of one good opportunity.

and even I can't stand his antics.

FWIW, that was a real fuck job by the refs, the head linesman especially, and this is coming from someone who had money bet on the "Girls"

Yeah he steps on Aaron Rodgers twice and acts as though he never saw him lol

at least you benefited from the screw job, I picked the lions for a few pals on mine, they are pissed at me for the moment but, it's not my fault I had no idea the Refs would intervene. I thought about betting the Lions myself glad I didn't.

Stafford is now 0-18 lifetime against winning teams on the road. So they got fked on a call. BFD. Did the lack of a called penalty cause the shank of the punt? Did it cause the Detroit D to give up that 4th and 6? Did it cause Stafford to choke on the last drive? Puhhhlease.

This all sounds like the loser Cub fans bitching about Bartmann. Christ, if it wasn't for the completely fked up disciplinary rules in the NFL, Suh shouldn't have even been allowed to play. And did you catch that pussy crying like a whiney bitch after the game?

They need to change the name of the team from the "Lions" to the "Pussies." Their mascot can be a gigantic Vag. Wimps.

Both wrote articles on how the lions got cheated. You do however make some good points about suh being a bitch and Stafford coming up short in big games.  And sadly I'm a braves fan, and I like the broncos not the lions. With that said the NFL released a statement on Monday apologizing for screweing Detroit,  what more proof do we need To realive they were screwed. Of course there were things they could have done to overcome being screwed,  but they were up against a lethal offense.  It really doesn't matter to me because Seattle is going to the Superbowl, Seattle defense is so good paying off the refs won't help them assuming they get pass the packers
