partnership arraingements?
Something very basic, that explores the comparitive advantages and disadvantages for the layman who knows enough to be dangerous?

I don't think there is one as described by your post. Real estate partnerships or LLCs may be structured in as many ways as there are objectives of the partners/members.
Were you referring to holding title or the actual entity formation issue.
