or any good reason you should bring up the random facts...

Similar things could be pointed out in several sports, and the first one comes to mind is Joe DiMaggio's record of 56 consecutive games with a base hit.

Wilt Chamberlain averaged 48.3 minutes per game one year.  Considering there are only 48 minutes in a game, that record is pretty safe.

Wilt has many other records that may never be broken, such as: most rebounds in one game - 55; highest PPG and RPG for a season - 50.4 and 27.2.

He famously scored 100 points in a game (including a record 28 free throws made) but with the 3-point line, a hot hand could conceivably break that record.

I agree totally with Jack-Wilt was an incredible physical presence-However, he was quite difficult to coach, IMHO-and championships didn't matter enough-he won two and I saw the 67 Philly team play-He was a beast but I recall one game 7 where he came out at crunch time and didn't return-I would much have rather had Russell, who had some classic battles with Wilt, despite being outweighed 65 to 70 lbs. Happy New Year, All!

Not sure if 20,000 is a record, or even true, nevertheless impressive.

P.S. Speaking of records, is 24-0 to start a college basketball game a record? That was beyond embarrassing. At least I've got football. Should we just cancel March Madness and give the title to Kentucky?

Poythress blew out his knee earlier, but they've seemed to weather that pretty well.

Though I'm a dyed in the wood Dookie, UK appears to be the best in the land-Huge, long and mega talented-Right now, I'd have to pencil my guys in for the silver-Happy NEw Year!    1rob    PS   If Wilt got even close to 20000, Its no wonder he had a heart attack    8-)
