he's just pure garbage. I was thinking we could just cut him but then I remember baseball contracts are guaranteed.  I'm with u on Micheal Bourne good lead off bat and he could steal bases... upton is a strike out waiting to happen.

I'm man enough to brag when I win, but I never could've seen Denver losing to St Louis my Vegas guys and everyone told me Denver would win.

I had them -450 on the ML and on the 1st half so you can imagine how much I lost today.

Just thought I'd share my losing ticket since I always share my winning tickets

I think you are already kicking yourself for doing so.

If it makes you feel any better, I too had money on the Broncos, but I didn't lay -450 so it was just one bet out of many. Unfortunately most of my early bets today were losers. I do have to thank the Packers for bringing me back today. I loaded up on them for not just the game, but  first quarter/over parlay, a first half/over parlay, and a game/over parlay. Thanks to them, I will be collecting this week. I would list my losers, but they are too many to mention. lol

Since I had a 1st half bet, I figured if for some strange reason Denver did not cover the 6/half that I would take them on the ML to get some of the 1st half losses back, obviously that didn't work.

Seems like Peyton Manning fucked both of us yesterday, thankfully Aaron Rodgers saved your day lol.

Vegas gave us a good ole fashion ass kicking this week, but we will bounce back Sunday!

Off topic I feel bad for Gurley tore his ACL, damn thought they had a chance to win the SEC, no chance now.

That's just one of the benefits of never GIVING long odds. To me the Denver debacle was just one game of many.

I will confess I did not do well last night. The Steelers are just a different team on the road I guess.

As for Gurley, the odds got longer for UGA, but they have played remarkably well without him. Winning the SEC never really looked like it was in the cards for the Dawgs anyhow, the SEC is stacked once again, but you never know, that's why they play the games. lol

So pain wasn't felt like I felt it haha!

As for the Steelers I don't know man, I just can't get a read on them, one week they score 50 then the next week they struggle.

There is no way that I would ever gives odds that long unless I already KNEW the outcome, not simply thought I had a good/great prediction. lol

Do you know how many games you will have to win in a row at -450 and how much money you will have to risk to make up for that one "bad beat"??? If you plan on doing this long term, repeat after me "I will NEVER lay -450 again" now say it a thousand more times  and you'll be just fine.

I forgot that you disdain money line bets.

It definitely was a bad bet, heck I'm to embarrassed to admit how much I lost on Sunday, however I will say that it was in the thousands and 30% of the profits that I made during my 9 week winning streak.

You know how much I love my money line bets, so I can't guarantee that I will never do it again, but I learned a valuable lesson, never to lay big odds on a money line bet to cover a potential loss of a 1st half bet.

To Quote James Brown I'm getting some "payback" this Sunday

What you guys think of Jason Heyward and Jordan Walden going to Cards? :D

The best bet you have right now is to send him to AAA and have him work on swing and play for average instead of playing for the fences. He is great in the outfield and has a monster of a swing. At the back end of the deal, you guys still owe him $45 million.

That Bum pulled off the biggest heist I've ever seen.  I'm sure we could get something for him they could have included him in the trade just to get the money off the books.

I also hate the Jay-Hey trade, but the Braves have had a habit of trading right fielders after 3-4 years for decades.

I am with you that the Upton brothers should have been the ones to leave, but I was never in favor of them in the first place. I wish we had kept Michael Bourne instead. I think Curly is right about sending BJ down, but I doubt he will ever amount to much. Most likely we need to bite the bullet and send him on his way like we finally did with Uggla.

Trade him to Colorado Rockies, if they are willing to foot the bill.  With Michael Cuddeyer gone to NY Mets, there could be a spot open in the outfield that needs to be filled.  BJ has a great swing, and Coors Field stadium would be a great place for him, given its geographical uniqueness . I'm not sure how Braves' farm system looks to promote someone, but I'm sure they can find someone who has a better BA than his .208 in 2014 and .184 in 2013...

he Braves starting rotation is a mess. Between players leaving via free agency, players coming back from major injury, and others who are just raw with little experience, Atlanta had to do something quickly. Getting a young pitcher like Shelby Miller has significant upside. In his limited career he has shown flashes of brilliance while pitching on a contending team. More important, the Braves will have him at a good market value for a number of years.

The Cardinals had a void in the outfield and Heyward fits the bill perfectly. He is only 25 so there is time for him to meet those lofty expectations thrust upon him when he was a minor league standout. He is a great defensive outfielder and gives you a rare combination of speed/power. The Cardinals have to hope that Heyward likes St. Louis, signs an extension there and doesn't test free agency after the season. If they only have Heyward for a year, its a bad deal for the Cardinals.

This deal is based on "potential". Both teams are gambling that the player they acquired has only scratched the service in terms of his talent. Time will tell.

I know what Heywood is capable of, I have no idea how Miller will perform

Heyward, IMHO, has reached his full potential. 15-20 HR and 75-85 RBI per season. Yes, he's a Gold Glove quality right fielder but not worth the money he'll seek, and probably get, in free agency next year. It was a logical move for the Braves, seeing that they'll be paying for Dan Uggla and BJ Upton for several more years.

GaGambler594 reads

and the Braves have never wanted to pay any real money for a right fielder, just ask Sheffield, Frenchie et al about that.

Heyward was solid at the position though and he brought some very needed speed to the base paths. BJ has speed as well, but you have to get on base for it to mean anything. As for Uggla, good fucking riddance, I guess that was the price we had to pay in allowing Freddie to bring him along. What a waste of fucking money, not to mention the thousands that he cost me by being a rally killer. I can't think of a player since Andruw that single handedly cost me as much money as fucking Uggla.
