I had a Pittsburgh 1st half bet that I had already written off. I would have sold my bet for a penny on the dollar if I could have found someone dumb enough to buy and THEN, 24 points in 2:54. I couldn't fucking believe it.

to myself man anyone who had Pittsburgh got lucky as hell lol Foster fumbles on the 1 yard line right before the half then they turn it over again with 50sec left.

good bet, but I tend to shy away when two sorry teams are playing each other.

s a fan you are always the last one to see the flaws in your own team. The Steelers have always (we'll just start from the Chuck Noll era because the first 39 years of their existence was about on par with the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers...but I digress here) been driven by their defense. While the offense has been good, never dynamic; it's the defense that has been their true calling card. Relentless, hard hitting, and extremely opportunistic.

Frankly, over the past few years, we have seen a dramatic shift in their defensive play. And not for the better. They no longer stop the run consistently. And if you don't stop the run, then your pass rush is predictable and futile. And if you can't rush the passer consistently to speed up the opposing offense and force the QB into mistakes, then you give up big plays and don't generate turnovers. It's as simple as that. The Steeler defense is now mediocre. An ordinary defense and an ordinary offense that moves the ball but struggles scoring TD's in the red zone, at the end of the day gives you a record around .500. That's where the Steelers are today.

Tonight, once they got back into the game at 13-10, they got a gift fumble from Arian Foster (who is about sure handed as they come) and then they finally put pressure on Fitzpatrick to force him into a big mistake. Flipping a game from 0-13 down to up 24-13 by halftime is a rarity. For a night, at least the Steelers made some big splash plays. That's been missing for two years.

If your looking long term to see if the Steelers are a playoff team in 2014/15, it's going to be a tough road. I don't think they are better than the Ravens and or the Bengals. They'll prob. have to beat one of them out for a wild card spot. It prob. is going to take at least a 10-6 record to get in, and I'm not sure the Steelers are a 10 win team. Hopefully, they prove me wrong.
