The Orioles have 3 World Series titles in franchise history. They should have at LEAST 5---but in both WS with the Pirates (1971 and 79) the team just stopped hitting. When the bats go into that kind of funk it puts too much pressure on the pitching and defense. With the high intensity atmosphere of postseason baseball a batting funk at the wrong time is usually a death sentence--sad to say!! I understand what the Nats fans are going through---it's torturous!!

I become more and more amazed by this team every day!! Honestly, I didn't think they'd even BEAT the Tigers much less sweep them. That series proved how valuable having a COMPLETE 25 man roster is. The Tigers have big-time stars in the every-day lineup and starting rotation but ZILCH bench and bullpen---and that's where they got beat!!
Now it's on to face KC---and I'm worried SICK about this series!! The Royals have as much depth in their pitching as we do---they play great defense--and while they don't bash the long-ball like we do they can steal bases all-night and manufacture runs--which is what wins tight ballgames in the postseason!! Plus they've got this "destiny" thing about them right now.
But that's down the road---for now I'll celebrate the win over the Tigers a little while longer!! LET'S GO O'S!!
