Or is it regional? I getting ready to "jump into" the pool and want to start off on the right foot. I'm too new and too nervous to start of hobbying in my home town, but plan to on my next business trip out west.

Just depends on which is more popular in your area. You would probably get a more accurate response posting this question on your Regional Board.
They do depend on the area! I joined and found that p411 works well overall nationally, and heard RS2K was quite popular in the mid-west.
The regional board for your destination area is a great place to post this question, too. You'll likely get a great idea of which is the best choice for you.

RS2K is more prevelent in the mid-west. P411 is more nationwide. Since I travel from time to time, I use P411.
hobbiest and have found it to be quite easy to use to verify with.
We use RS2K more often when we go to the midwest and I find that P411 is a little less regional as we get requests for verification from all over the country with that service.
