am i allowed to ask if anyone knows her? I am in contact with someone (in wash dc area) who appears to be a low volume provider and rather discreet.

Seems ok but don't want to be a naive newbie.

post a request for information on the local board.  Also, do a search on the board for her name or phone number to see if anyone has already asked.  You may very well, depending on the recent LE fishing expeditions on the board, get responses saying that they do not know who you are, but you should at least try.

If you get no response, or the kind of responses that suggest that they think you may be LE, you are getting into the realm of TOFTT, which is Taking One For The Team.  If you are new to the Hobby, I would suggest that you don't do that - better to go with a well reviewed provider.  If you are just new to TER, we would appreciate a review if you pull the trigger.

Good Luck

If all you can say is "I found this chick's post on a message board that I don't remember, and she says her name is Britney, does anyone know her?", then we probably won't be able to help you much.  If you can say something like "Here's a link to her ad, and here's all the information I have on her, can anyone help?", then we're much more likely to be able to give you good info.

On the DC board, we generally call those "411 requests".  Sometimes they get responses, and sometimes they don't.  If you'd like to PM me, I'd be glad to take a shot at answering (I'm in Baltimore), and give you advice about writing an informative "411 request" post.

you need to be specific.  Don't just say, "Does anyone know Star?"  Provide link to her web site, a pic, something to separate her from other ladies with the same name.
