Now that we're almost halfway into the season, who are the surprise teams for the 1st half? Mine are Milwaukee and Toronto. Milwaukee has the best record in the National League and holds a 4 1/2 game lead over St. Louis. The Blue Jays are in 1st place in the AL East, just ahead of Baltimore. Strange seeing someone besides Boston or New York leading the division. Other thoughts?

Giants have cooled down so Los Doyers need to get their shit together. Angels look in good shape, as expected.Blue Jays have surprised me as the Brewers with the best road record in baseball, I guess they can't wait to get the hell out of Milwaukee....lol

Kansas City beat Verlander and Scherzer on consecutive days and led the Central for a few days, then hit a rough patch. Detroit could be in trouble if Verlander doesn't get straightened out.

10 wins in a row, and taking 3 of 4 from the Tigers in Detroit was impressive, but then the road warriors (aka Seattle Mariners) swept them at home, and all of sudden, their 1.5 game Divisional lead was a distant memory...time to regroup a little, although they should definitely compete for a Wild Card.

Milwaukee, Toronto, Seattle (6 games over .500, that's just crazy), the Angels

Surprisingly competitive-Miami, Houston

Disappointments-Boston (defending champs?), Texas, Pittsburgh (although the tide may be turning)

Detroit vs a very strong Oakland A's in the AL Championship

The Nationals vs the Dodgers in the NL Championship,

with the Tigers over the Nat's in 7 games in the World Series
