i applied (school board) and was honest. they did not even care about that stupid one time charge. they agreed what a waste of tax dollars theyalso relized how corrupt LE can be, which is more likely; A) a beautiful, educated classy lady with no prior is a "floozy"
or B) that a drunk cop is a "pervert"
school board concluded that it would be more likely that a cop that found it necassary to drink on duty was a pervert
i also showed how i did not live in that state and it was flat out impossible/ overly expensive to fight a frivalous charge from cross country

Well I dealt with the paper work needed to expunge my record. It was pretty simple. I needed to get the form from the criminal courts. then fill it out (simple stuff like case number, charge, name) then take it to the city prosecutor and have them stamp it and then take it back to criminal courts dept. along with $60. they said it should take between 6-8 weeks and they will mail me the decision. the criminal dept also recommended that I file a seal and destroy once the expunge goes through. the guy expalined that even expunged records can be found depending on how much money the person whos looking pays. Sealing and destroying would further "bury" my record and make it harder to find. When I asked the city prosecutor about this she said that the criminal courts recommend this but it is almost always denied because in essence it would say that you are innocent. I'll try, got nothing to loose.
As far as the job situation. currently I am applying for a couple of jobs and on one app they asked for any convicted crime so I am going to have to put disturbing the peace and if they ask say loud music or something. Its too embarassing to say soliciting. I just hope these background check agencies arent able to see my arrest record.
for the person who asked. I was the guy and I got busted by an undercover. Never go into a hotel room the girl already has. Let the girl get in your car before you talk about anything.
Anyone else have experience with background checks and types of info they pull up? Also how to I make sure that my record gets expunged. Is there a way to verify??

I don't have good news for you. A good pre employment screening looks at criminal records closely...arrests, convictions, etc. When the red flag goes up, they usually ask you to come clean. Dependent upon the group doing the investigation, they can even find out about expunged files.
I would not lie on an application. Most companies would rather deal with an honest employee, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, than deal with deceipt.
Once the record is expunged, if you can honestly say in your heart of hearts that the slate was wiped clean, say what you feel is right.

I agree with being honest, if they do ask me to explain the conviction they probably already know or can find out. Not sure I understand your last comment. Once it is expunged it will read case dismissed which is like no convition. I know what happened in the past. Also does anyone know about sealing and destroying records and if this is possible with this type of case.
