I had a second thought on this idea. Instead of adding an upselling feature on the provider profile, perhaps TER could add a tipping / upselling feature each time a TER member posted a review on a provider. TER could also provide a way for reviewers to post their price paid along with the review. TER members could then compare how much each reviewer paid the provider in question and whether they ran into tipping / upselling problems or not.

I was going to make two suggestions:

1) Would it be possible to redo the provider profiles so that reviewers could input more
than one ad web link as to where they see (or saw) advertisements for providers? Many providers advertise at more than one website so I would imagine that providers would be interested in this feature also - or at least the honest ones would be! :)

2) Would it also be possible to make a change to provider profiles in the Cost of Services section which would indicate whether the reviewer experienced a problem with either tipping or upselling from the provider? Maybe a checkmark or checkbox could be written in on the provider profile for this. I know that many reviewers try to deal with this issue by writing whether there was a tipping / upselling problem into their reviews, but I think this would be made more clearly by some kind of profile indicator.
