I would hit a handful stores, sometimes, in a day.  Driving all the way to the Valley, maybe hitting Westwood and Melrose, sometimes.  

Along the same line, going to record stores for in-store performances and signings.  Tower Records (only for new!), Rhino, Moby Disc, Aron's and Texas records.  Those were the days.
