Unless the reference is from an agency you had been affiliated with in the past, it is difficult to know how an agency would collect useful feedback for you; and the actual donation received by the agency ladies for this agency could be even lower than their published rates, after the Agency receives its portion.

...your rates are. It doesn't matter that his references are from agencies with lower rates, he wants to see you. If he starts haggling, then you can dump him.
wouldn't so much be the issue depending on the city but I don't accept agency references.
The one exception is a local agency in my city but any other agency no.

You are looking at references to ensure your safety. What we paid the provider before you is irrelevant.
references are primarily for checking if somebody is safe or not.....although too drastic of a difference in category might mean that the other provider may be ok with things you are not, I would never take a reference from a street girl for instance because she is probably much more willing to risk her safety than I am.....
::Me pinching your tities::....Now I agree that safety is of the utmost concerns but rates do play a part. If a gent is used to paying 3-400 and he's satisfied with the ladies he meets under this "pay scale", than his initial impression or thought may be that if she's $600, then my hair better be on fire, her looks better be of a goddess and they better carry me out in a body bag after the session. If those expectations aren't met, and if in his mind she's no better than a $400 lady, then you bet that her review will reflect that.
I've read enough reviews where the reviewer thought that for someone charging $600, she was no better then some at $300.

prefers to drive a pickup during the week doesn't mean he can't rent a Lamborghini for a day if he feels like treating himself to something special. If he knows what your rate is and agrees to pay it to see you, the rest is irrelevant.

guys that actually buy these cars for mid-life crisis, insecurity, or whatever reason. There's no point in buying one because you can't really drive them the way they were intended to be driven on public streets and highways. I go to Vegas monthly, and besides seeing a couple of lovely ladies, I spend several hours at the exotic track racing these supercars at the speeds they were built for. Its strictly short term rental, and easy to blow a few grand in a day, but the exhilaration is hard to beat, except maybe aerobatics in a Stearman, which was my last hobby before I discovered providers.
I like your style...yes, supercars and superbikes are for the track. No one else is going 160mph on the streets- what fun is that? Tracks are where you get to let loose, but you gotta buy new Pirelli's after each run. However, I'm not gonna say no if the client wants to take me out for a spin. 
We have gotten some great references from agencies...very quick turn around and enough description to confirm that they did their homework before and after the appointment. Alternatively, we have had some very high end ladies provide responses that made us question if they even remember the client (which is cause to question).
We would not reject the reference just based on the agency's rates because sometimes they seem to do more homework than independents.

A "top rated" provider and her "well established and known" booker.
Messaged for an OK and she could't find his info (email/name/phone number) even though I told the booker the name of who he saw (she books for a lot of ladies it seems) and when he saw her AS WELL as what city. I figure a professional booker would be able to figure it out with ALL THAT INFO but she said she had no record of him. Needless to say I nearly missed the date until HE did the leg work and contacted either the provider or the booker (but I am sure both go to the booker) and THEN she figured out who he was and that he was OK.
So.
Even top rated/high end/well managed/elite/VIP etc etc can drop the ball.
Ironically I told the gent prior that I did not use agency or booker referencing but chose to contact this booker due to having met her in the past. Turns out that my inclination to avoid bookers was spot on and proven by this disorganized mess I dealt with. I feel bad for the ladies she is booking for because it's clear that there is a huge lack of organization if you can't look up a client by name/email/phone/last date/location/etc.
This is why I do all my own screening/booking.
i agree with the others that just because a guy usually sees someone in one price range doesn't mean he cant want to jump to a different level. it is possible his situation changed. new job, bonus, or just been saving up. that being said Safety for all parties is paramount. If you are not comfortable with the level of screening from agency references, ask him to submit to additional screening. most of us wont mind as long as it is not to invasive. remember, your safety matters and ours do too. me personally, i would want you relaxed and excited about our appointment. Not preoccupied the whole time because of feeling that could have ben alleviated through screening.

References from Agencies... I prefer a personal reference ...
But that me ..
How about price ? Who cares ...
If he can afford your price ...what is the issue?
Or are u afraid because he paying more he can be more demanding or have higher or unrealistic EXPETACTIONS?

Food. Sometime I get sushi, other times I get noodles. Very different price points, but both make me feel satisfied 
I always thought the purpose of a reference was first for safety, and second, so the lady won't completely freak out when she sees that I only have one arm and a glass eye (except on Halloween when I wear a hook where my arm used to be, an eye patch and my Pirate costume)

The only references I wouldn't accept would be backpage. Other than that, it doesn't matter since we're all here to have fun and NO drama!
I'm glad I posted because I like to get a general sense of what everyone things and feels about the situation. It's not so much of a problem that the providers were much lower, it's just the whole agency thing, with lots of girls who are $160+. I'm a fairly new provider so I'm not quite an expert yet. Thanks for not biting my head off, and thanks to all the people who gave me thoughtful advice
Yes I'm fine with those references. If he is willing to pay my rates without haggling then it doesn't matter what he paid another.
