mode of transmission

I have read of a hobbyist who admitted to catching chlamydia from a BBBJ. How he was certain it was from a BBBJ and not another activity, I do not know, but you could probably ask (he obviously is of the more open sort since he did post that here!). You can search for that post on the newbie board.

I did a ton of research before entering this little world, and almost all the STD transmission statistics are based on poor data. For instance, much of the data is gleaned from those who show up at low-income community clinics for treatment or from other high risk populations, and most studies don't control for IV drug use, etc; the mode of transmission is not clear if people participate in various acts that could possibly be involved. Keeping in mind that all the stats are really a bunch of hand-waving estimates based on crappy data, it is generally accepted that the risks from oral are very low, and it is slightly higher for the provider of the act. Pre-ejaculate/ejaculate into the throat is the mode of transmission, and it's thought to be harder to transfer from the throat to the penis, so your question is targeted at a relatively rare occurrence, and then, out of that small number, you'd have to find those open to admit it.

Hopefully most get tested on a regular basis in all the areas that are relevant, although I'd probably hate to see the numbers for that as I am sure it would be disappointing. Also, it would be smart for everyone here to take advantage of the HPV vaccine. Even if you're outside of the recommended vaccine age group, you can still ask for the jab, and the data indicates that it prevents infections in all the relevant areas, including oral. The only reason it's not recommended for those above certain age groups is that it's automatically assumed you've had HPV, but no one has any clue if you've had the nasty cancerous strains in the vaccine; getting vaccinated seems like a very wise thing to do if you want to reduce your cancer risks.

Hello fellow hobbyists. I am doing a personal / unofficial study on the subject of BBBJ and STDs. I am aware that most providers offer this service, and most clients oblige.

My question is: Has any hobbyist (willing to chime in) contracted an STD / STI from receiving BBBJ

I just wanted to respond as a provider. I used to go to the STD clinic to get tested before I had insurance. They are the ones that made me aware that you can get certain STD's in your throat and anus. I have decided to routinely get tested in all the areas you can contact any disease. The nurse practitioner looks at my throat and says it looks fine but I still make her test me. The bottom line is everyone has to take responsibility when practicing any bare back sex.

thinking about offering BBBJ yourself?

Seriously, mine is likely the only response you will get.

1.   You are asking people to "out" themselves; and
2.   You are asking from an alias, so we don't know who you are.

This type of post usually gets crickets, but who knows, there are definitely some dumb shits here.

Probably the wrong forum for this topic after all... Just wanted a general consensus, not specific individual accounts. But I now realize that's a bit hard to do without aliases.

Nickname is "BB King"  but Im not going to out him. The risks he takes will catch up one of these days.

I always knew that BBQ had some sexual health risks tied to it! Probably should stop chowing down on that platter of ribs before each of my sessions. I'm sure they'd go much better...

...but how can you say no to RIBS? #firstworldproblems

Now THAT was a worthwhile response. Very insightful and informative. Thank you.

Glad that helped even if the facts are a bit nebulous.

I thought I should add a note for clarity (too late to edit): Pre-ejaculate/ejaculate into the throat is the mode of transmission *for the bacterial STDs like chlamydia & gonorrhea.* The viral STDs are different, and that's why I mentioned the HPV vaccine

Thanks for the tip Kerri! At my last annual I tested negative for HPV...how remains a mystery but since I haven't had it since they've began testing I should get the vaccine. Of course my Doctor doesn't know what I do, just that I have multiple partners...lol I appreciate the advice!
