END OF MESSAGE

Just read that that the HOF is moving to Atlanta, and will be open to the public sometime this fall.

From what I was able to find, I'm guessing it was because Charlotte ponied up more money than Atlanta. Also, another reason suggested was that Charlotte has deeper NASCAR roots than Atlanta.

where he could walk with his family from a downtown hotel to visit the HOF without worrying about getting shot or mugged .

The could not compete with the already built I-285 track?

I'm curious to see what traffic problems the new baseball stadium will cause on 75/285, especially for weeknight home games that start at 7:30, with baseball goers competing with rush-hour drivers. Let the fun begin!!

Back in the early 80's sportswriter Dave Kindred moved from the Louisville Courier Journal to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He wrote a column about a month after he'd been in Atlanta and said that driving on 285 was the greatest sporting event he'd ever seen. I lived there for 20 plus years and it's the only city in the US where drivers drive offensively rather than defensively. About 10 years or so ago, the AJC did a story about driving speeds on 285. The section of 285 between I20 east and 85 south had the highest AVERAGE speed on "The Perimeter" at 86 miles per hour!

of suicidal tendencies. There must be a lot of self loathing folks in Atlanta.
