I must confess that I was raised on Spam and before going vegetarian would savor it as a guilty pleasure.  I can still imagine the savory pork/bacon-like smell.  Mmmmmm.

My Answer: Spicy Chili

To save money, Mom would sometimes serve us kids Spam for dinner when Dad was out of town. Yeech.

I had the opportunity to try one lately.  YUCK!  There was something about the gel in the can that reminded me of the dog's tin of food!

The smell of boiling Brussels Sprouts reminds me of a full diaper locked in a hot car!

It must have been a thing way back when.  Yuck!  Also, red beets.  I cannot stand them either.

I'm with foxcar on spam!!! Never again

If not convinced, watch, "Super Size Me".

Does that also mean when you get through with us as well?

Wow!  I never heard of it so I looked it up.  Yuck!  I feel for you man.

Chris,t those were awful, now OTOH, if you roast brussels sprouts properly, they're fkn GREAT (lotsa garlic and red pepper) -- just saying....

With the only exception from Lawry's cream corn from the Prime Rib cart.

offered creamed corn in an upscale restaurant, and I politely told the waiter I have already eaten enough creamed corn to last a lifetime.

Horrible food description I have ever read. Stay strong!

It's a East LA thing...you had to have been from there to "get" it.

My Abuelita put me on a stool to look in the pot.  I asked her what part of the cow don't you use?  She said" The MOOOOOO!!!!"
I would still eat a bowl of cabeza today if she was cooking it!
Provecho!

Norteno Tambien!

my pallet has expanded as I've gotten older and like SO much I wouldn't eat as a kid.

Never would I discovered how pizza could be used wrapped up in a ball could be used as a.basketball or lethal weapon.

Mom didn't make us anything we didn't want to as she grew having to eat everything served to her. I didn't like cauliflower or broccoli as as a kid but do now.

But now that I think about it I kind of miss the wine sauce.  My dad talked me into eating horse balls once, but once was enough.

Having grown up in the deep south I will never eat stewed okra again.  Just too slimy.
