I'd like the hobby to be viewed as an unusual job choice with unusual challenges. If this show does that then I'm for it. Not what I said! Traffic, Syriana,Contagian....Not thrilled with Magic Mike....The Knick is an amazing period piece!
The Girlfriend Experience ( Feature) was hardly one of his best! Cinematically shot very well but the feature led to nowhere in the story. Sasha Grey was good for her first mainstream roll. But who am I just another critic behind a keyboard shield!
Saw it a long time ago and thought it was a really stupid movie for all the "hype" they gave it...
Of course I only lasted about 5 minutes, maybe it got better --?-- Thank goodness I had Big Trouble recorded. That movie was a victim of post 9/11 stupidity.

I can see it as a disaster for married hobbyists. Many wives will get hooked on the show because of the scandalous subject matter, and start to look for signs their husbands might be customers, where they wouldn't have made the connection before. Guys that may have been laid-back as far a covering their tracks will have to be more diligent as wives start to learn how this hobby works.
In fact TGFE is kind of the same plot, but with more drama. I got through episode 5. There's no mention of review sites or TER, but some of the events are straight off the boards. Unscrupulous bookers, stalkerish dudes wanting to be her real life boyfriend, fear of being outed. But otherwise, it's pretty tame. The actress is hot and occasionally naked. That's my mini review. I will probably watch the rest of it sometime later. YMMV.

The show itself is watchable, and conveys the fact that most people engaged in the hobby are normal; not serial killers, perverts, or are dangerous. That concerns over disease, sex trafficking, and pedophilia, are overblown by the media.

There are a lot of different economic strata represented here - Some folks save for a month or two to be able to see a $300 - $400 an hour girl and there are others that view 10 grand the way that normal people view a couple of hundred bucks (that is not me BTW).
If a girl can get a few of these whales in the rotation it changes everything as far as their earning potential goes. Less clients at higher prices is the way to get there and I believe that north of 300k shouldn't be a problem for a girl with the right "skill-set"...
