Another little clarification

What if the provider has one or two reviews, fake ones, written by her or a friend to get her started, which is not unusual. The first real hobbyist might get the shitty treatment. He has taken one for the team (the true, cash paying hobbyists) if he shares that info.

I see this all the time.  What does it mean?

First, the acronym, TOFTT, literally means Take One For The Team. In essence, when you take one for the team, you, as a hobbyist, have seen a provider, paid her a donation and for a myriad of reasons the session went terribly wrong. She may she may look horrible and nothing like her photos (but you wanted to get laid and went through with the session), she may have advertised herself as a wonderful friendly GFE only to really be a heartless mechanical bitch who doesn’t care about her clients, she may have tried to upsell you (quote you $300 but if you wanted to get laid it was $700), she may have lied to you over the services she offered (i.e. you thought full service, she only offered you a massage), or worse, she may have stolen your money and ran out on you. In other words, you have wasted money or time with a provider and you now feel completely violated and ripped off.

Now, you ask, who is this team and why should I care if I take one for them? Good questions. The team is all of us hobbyists. While you have lost money and time (and no, don’t expect any of your "teammates" to pay you back) you now feel it’s your duty and obligation to warn others and protect your fellow hobbyists from booking a session and making the same mistake you did. Let's call it professional courtesy. We all appreciate when hobbyists take one for the team; it saves the rest of us a future headache and disappointment in seeing a provider.

While it doesnt help you (i.e. recover your cash) when you take one for the team it helps others. Hobbyists need one another to self police the hobby and make it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. If you hobby long enough, you will get ripped off and cheated along the way. That's why reviews and discussions are paramount.

When you TOFTT, you run the RISK that something like what Hardy describes might happen...however there is anecdotal evidence of hobbyists thinking that they are about to TOFTT because all the signs point to a high-risk encounter and then report that everything went extremely well...

I thought it would be seeing someone who had not yet been reviewed----an unknown. Thus, although a risk for things Hardy mentioned, not necessarily an expectation of bad things to occur.

Thus the first to review would TOFTT and let others know--good or bad experience.
