found this on the sf regional board, and i enjoyed it so much, i think both providers and clients could benefit from reading the lovely zayla melina's (TER ID: 252748) thoughts on incall...

That new series: The Girlfriend Experience on STARZ should significantly impact this "hobby" / "business" / "addiction"...

Thoughts?!?

first, i love soderbergh's work so i'll check it out fuh shizzle!

but, the girls don't look like they are enjoying themselves in the trailer, which i think is indicative of the prevailing wisdom about this endeavor:  ie, the women who do it are damaged, or desperate, or needy, or self-destructive.

now that may be true about some women in the hobby, but it's also true about some men in the hobby.  and it's also true about some men and women who don't engage in the hobby.

we'll see what the show actually portrays, but i really loved the diary of a call girl on showtime starring rose from dr. who.

yes, i'm a geek, why do you ask?

be a geek, but you're OUR geek!  Great post.  I've gotten the sealed toothbrush many times, but never the comb.  Sounds like Zayla runs a first-class incall.

Can you imagine if they made a series based on my dates?!?

It would be like a car crash you just couldn't turn away from...

I think it will show the women enjoying what they do and I feel the same way about Steven Soderbergh but

have a lot less experience than you when it comes to that evaluation.

In any case you will be in my book BPJ and maybe you can star as yourself in the movie - Ha!

and you can bet your ass I will exaggerate the hell out of the role play stuff...

As someone who read the Belle de Jour blog back in the day and is also Whovian, I liked Secret Diary of a Call Girl (more Rose!!!) but was very disappointed in how they simplified Belle's character (I know, the translation from words to screen requires simplification, but I don't always agree with what is cut!).  One reason I enjoyed the blog is that it was apparent, well before the author was outed, that she was a VERY capable woman, and she didn't escort simply for lack of other options.

As for the new show, I hope the sad faces are merely from flashy editing for the teaser. From what I've read, it's supposed to portray a girl who's in control of her life and enters the biz because she likes sex, and of course it happens to pay better than many esteemed and acceptable professions.

Looks like the lead in the STARZ thing is Riley Keough who is Elvis Presley's granddaughter.
