I've had a couple of NCNS over the years and they are infuriating!

XO,
KK

I've never really had this issue before and thought that it was a bit odd.  I had a Saturday appointment for a massage with Megan Rae.  I got the address for her building from her and her phone # via email, and she said to text her when I got to the building for additional instructions.  I got to the building six minutes early, texted her and then . . . nothing.  I texted her again at the exact time of the appointment, and again got nothing.  I tried calling and emailing (and yes, I check that I had the right number), and got no response.  At no point since then (in the last 48 hours) did I get any kind of notification from her as to what had happened.  At first, I decided to wait on posting something like this on the off chance that I heard something from her or that she had a good reason, but I think she just changed her mind and chose the path of least resistance.

I don't know if anyone else has had a problem like this with her (or in general), but it really irked me that  I lost a good portion of my day.  I understand that any provider reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, but a little warning or any explanation would have been nice.

Why do they do that?  Don't they know they are hurting their own business?

I've never had that happen before in the 8+ years that I've been in the hobby.  Heck, I'd never even heard of it happening.  Unfortunately, it's very hard to do anything about it.  TER (and most boards apparently) don't let you report a no-show in a review, so you have to count on people coming to read the forums which, for the most part, people don't do nearly as often.

Anyway, all I can do now is take my business elsewhere, which is a shame.

Really? This astonishing to me. I had a minor incident with Megan and she bent over backward to make it right. I was completely impressed with how she handled it. Seriously professional, and she seemed very motivated to live up to her great reputation. This just seems uncharacteristic, like to the point that I hope nothing happened to her.

Anyone can screw up. But follow up with her. Reply to the appointment email and ask (nicely) if she's willing to try to make it right. And please follow up here. After my experience, I'll be blown away if she doesn't offer to make it right.

I was honestly worried about her when I read this so I emailed her. She said if she NCNS you, forward the original email and shell give you a freebie. Which is exactly what I'd have expected from her.

Even the most professional people mess up. But you have to give them a chance to make it right. Megan is really cool. Go have fun.

On the day of the appointment, I texted her twice (after double-checking the number), called, and emailed her (and the initial email was in the reply).  She didn't respond to anything.  I accept that things can go wrong or that people can forget appointments, but she had every opportunity to contact me afterward.   Maybe she just had a bad vibe about the meetup (not sure why), but she still had a responsibility to explain and simply chose not to.
