Look, everyone is extremely nervous the first time seeing a provider. All sorts of things go through your head (big head)....is this an LE trap? will the provider just take my money and run? what about STD's? what do I do with the donation? how do I start the sexual part of the session? how do I know when to leave? etc. All of these things are legitimate and valid  concerns. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of sessions to know how to handle yourself throughout the entire process. Practice makes perfect. You will just have to take the proverbial plunge and get started.

The best advice is to do as much homework as possible. Find a well reviewed provider who meets your physical criteria and explain your situation to her. She may be understanding that you do not have references and do not wish to have her call you at work. Perhaps she would be willing to meet you first in a public place. If she insists on two provider references or needs to call you at work, then you have move on to the next lady. Eventually you will find a lady who will accept what information you have available.

You have to understand that the verification process is for the sole benefit and safety of the provider. If you think you are nervous about an appointment, think again. These ladies are a 1000 more times nervous about seeing you than you are about seeing them. They have no idea who you are or the type of person you are. They are trying to make the best educated guess they can to make sure you are a gentleman who is professional in his approach and will not cause her any trouble. To that end, each lady screens differently... you have to respect their individual verification process.

Also understand, however, that nothing in this hobby is without risk. Could you be walking into an LE sting? Of course its possible. But if you do research and select well reviewed providers, your chances of a police trap are minimal. As far as knowing whether the reviews are bogus, give more credence to the reviews written by hobbyists who have written multiple reviews. Also, look at the local and national boards and see the people who actively participate. Chances are very good that the ladies who express their opinions on the boards are providers who are legit and the hobbyists who write on boards are those whose reviews you can trust.

Good luck.

I've been interested in adding this hobby to my lifestyle for a few years, but finally mustered up the courage to actually hit the "send email" button earlier today. Not sure what type of response I'll receive since I have no references. I'm in the process of signing up with a couple of the verification services, but am a little leery of them calling my workplace for verification (I co-own a small business with my father and brothers). Any advice would be welcomed. Also want to make sure I'm not walking into a setup. How do I know that a provider and the reviews she has received aren't bogus? I can't help but be overcautious... I'm recently divorced and don't want to lose custody of my son. Escorts appeal to me more than a girlfriend right now... I want to focus on raising my son and not a drama filled relationship. Thanks.

You are right to be a little nervous. I would trust the reviews on this site because they don't just post what you write without some kind of checking. I would also be careful about giving out too much personal information just to get to see someone. Also a good local reference is the USASexGuide there is a lot of information about what is happening with the hobby where you live.

The reviews are not "checked", they are read to see that they meet the TER criteria for posting. There is a huge difference. No one from TER staff is fact checking anything that is written in a review. If a provider sees something that is not accurate in one of her posted reviews she can have it removed but that is about it as far as it goes. This is why it's important to look for multiple reviews written by guys who have multiple reviews.

Really?  Somehow  I was under the impression that the TER folks made sure(as far as they can) the providers were indeed providers.

I should say that I haven't been on TER very long, so if anyone could clarify all this that would be helpful.

You can not post a review on a lady unless you can link her to a website-her own, an agency's, an escort mall etc. This is a simple matter of the review checker clicking on the link in the review. If the link doesn't work the review is rejected.
Beyond this, no one is fact-checking anything.

You mean that guy peeking in the window WASN'T from TER's fact checking department???  Now I'm mad, REAL mad.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I'll dive right in! I'm in SC if anybody has any recommendations. Looks like I might be going to the Super Bowl in AZ if you have any leads there as well. Thanks again.

Jitters are part of being a newbie.  The more you know, the more free time your brain has to help you trigger pleasure centers.

My most recent "screening" involved, among other things, having the lady speak to me.  She asked in advance if it was OK to leave a voice mail on my phone.  I told her that it was, but please to only do so during business hours.  See how simple that can be?
