there's a bit of conventional wisdom in the mainstream thinking that says the people involved in this endeavor are highly narcissistic, if not down right mentally broken, selfish beyond human capacity. the ladies are closed off from their emotions and only respond if an envelope is involved. the men are self-involved hedonists.
recently i was in a minor car accident, but severe enough to put my hand in a cast. i unfortunately had to cancel two different dinner dates with two lovely ladies i know.
both women not only understood and expressed concern, both women offered their help with whatever i might need, running errands or whatever, off the clock, as friends.
i cannot express how much i know the people of this community (at least the ones i hang out with) are genuine, compassionate and caring.
my thanks to both ladies, and to everyone i know in this endeavor.
anecdote. I agree. Some of the people in this community are great. I have had a similar experience with providers I was regular with when I was recovering from a surgery. The selflessness goes way beyond the envelope sometimes as we build these friendships. Unfortuately, we have to deal with douchebags here also, but they are in the minority, IMO.
That was the serious part.
Now I will switch gears: So when your hand was in a cast did you use the other hand? Lol
unfortunately for me, i am not ambidextrous when it comes to that!! i am in severe need of relief!
The great think about this hobby is you can just put an envelope together, make a call or text, and get all the relief you want!!! Lol
I'm sorry to hear about your accident. I agree with many things you have said here and I actually think you were the first non-provider that I talked to here. It's people like you that keep this real and to me this is fucking real life [as real as you can get] - with heavy consequences if you fuck up - [I drove around for 2 days with a Hollywood parking pass bouncing around my can - Shiiiiiiii...]
I think that our situations at one time were very similar: I have crazy good sex at home with my girl - every box is checked except the emotional / spiritual connection we used to have! I don't know where it went or how to get it back - but I do know a couple of places I can go to find it again with someone new - and I'm like a kid in a candy store. It is so fucking cool. I feel like I am back in High school - and I have every intention of running with it for a while. I don't know how this ends or where I'm even going but I'm pretty sure that we will end up competing for the same resources - so good luck Amigo and I'll let you know how I like that brick house when I get a chance to do a "walk thru"... Not your injury, that is, which I hope you quickly and fully recover from. It's easy to get cynical in this world and particularly in an activity where there really isn't any right to expect true emotions, even just friendly ones. This was heart-warming for me to read, no joke. There's a touch of Pretty Woman there.
