What do they do? I was looking at ads for local (Ft. Myers) massage parlors and saw a shallow tin bathtub in one picture. They said back walking provided, etc. I'm really curious. If this has been answered elsewhere please provide link. I do have back pain which prompted the initial search.

See a licensed massage therapist for that, and if the condition is really bad, an orthopedist.
As for what goes on, it varies a lot. I have never been to an AMP that does the walking, and would be a bit concerned to let someone do that unless I knew they were very skilled at it.
What normally goes on is that you get a pretty good massage and for about $50 more a HJ. If you're lucky, you'll find someone willing to go further.

I've been to many that offer back walking and are very skilled at it, especially Chinese IMO. I've had it probably a handful of times but really prefer the hands and forearms. Not personally big on the elbows and knees or the backwalking.
Also, many many ladies are excellent at "therapeutic" massage as they've had hundreds or even thousands of hours of training and are licensed. I've even had a few ladies who were medical doctors back home doing massage here for various reasons and they definitely know the body. I would certainly research your particular injury and discuss it with your doctor but I'd have no trouble getting therapeutic massages at an AMP.
Re the HJ and further extras, it's definitely YMMV not only dependent on the place but also the location in the country. Where I currently am, extras beyond the $40 HJ are almost nonexistent at the $60-70/hr AMPs. However, at some other places in town they are provided but those places start at around $140-$200/hr and then negotiate and upsell everything from there.
One last point for the OP, I'd advise you to enjoy a TS (table shower, not the other) as often as you can. Good experience, fun, and YMMV something may happen.

While AMP's may have certified masseuse staff on hand, that's not always the focus and so their general routine may aggravate pain rather than relieve it. Seek a pro until the pain is gone.
If you're sore & tired from physical activity (yardwork, golf, rowing, home repair) and just generally need your muscles jostled around, then an AMP is your friend.
In my area (Raleigh) there are a number of places with differing levels of service and capability. Some seem to be focused on getting you off and out, while others do really great massage work and might offer a release. You may have to search around to find what you're after.
As for letting someone walk on your back that's risky. But I enjoy having it done with someone who's below 140 pounds and knows what they're doing. They'll walk on my back from just above knees to just below neck. Will also kneel on my back and wiggle around, using their toes & arms to balance - feels awesome when they do that on the upper edge of the cheeks as it gets the whole hip area flexing around the joints.

There are quite a few Asian Massage Parlors in my area of Daytona Beach. Have never been to one. Can someone fill me in on what exactly transpires. Can you get "full service" in addition to the basic massage? Do the girls give out their private phone numbers or email addresses wherein you can meet them later when they are off duty?

but getting a phone number or email addy from any of the ladies is a very hit and miss proposition. It's akin to getting a personal phone number from any agency lady, the agency naturally frowns on it. So she will really have to like and trust you to give you her personal number
I cut my teeth in the Hobby world and it was a blast. As others have noted it can sometimes be like a box chocolates and you don't know what you're gonna get.
Back in the day in DC AMPs were the thing then LEO cracked down and I don't even think there is an AMP left in DC proper. You can find them in the burbs of MD and VA but even those are primarily staffed by over the hill MAMA-SAAN types. I have not been to an AMP in years.
AMPs use to have some very sexy ladies but now....yuck (at least in DC area). I also came to learn that trafficking was a big staffing resource for AMPs, at least in DC, and that also resulted in me ceasing my AMP activities as I did not want to support such a system.
