I have been researching being a provider for awhile now before I go into the business for myself. I noticed that up selling is very looked down upon, as well as it should be. If I live in CT and I advertise that there is a $50 travel charge for outcalls to NY, MA, and RI, is that up selling? I am also a bit confused about the term "petite." It seems to be a sought after quality but many of the girls who advertise themselves as petite are like 5'9''! Don't you have to be short to be petite? I weight 115lbs so I have considered advertising myself as petite but I would not want the guy to get there and be disappointed that I am 5'7''. When a hobbyist sees the word petite, does that mean short to them or just slim?
Advertised charge is not upselling. Upselling would be requiring additional fee after the client is with you.
Petite could mean different things to different people, but basically it means small and trim of figure. Personally petite is someone under 5'8" with a slim body type. I am 6' so that is petite to me, petite to someone who is 6'6" might be 5'10" or shorter, it is all relative to each person.

The best way of handling it is to have accurate stats on your site and good photos.
As for the upselling, when you announce in advance what your rates are, that is not the kind of upselling that people mean. It's more like the old bait and switch tactics that providers would once use.
There are plenty of legitimate providers who charge more based on the level of service, whether in call or out, city that they are working in and depending on how much they have to travel.
Those are all good reasons to charge more.
your just showing that if you do choose to enter the business, you will join the ranks of the ranks of good and honest providers!!! So long as you say so up front, charging extra for you for your travel expenses is fine, and quite common.
Here is an example of the upselling we all complain about. Last year I took a hobby trip to Amsterdam, something which I would highly recommend in spite of this experience. "XXX" is literally in the cities crest, and you will find a whole new meaning to window shopping.
I called one of the sex clubs in the afternoon to schedule a visit, and was quoted an implied all inclusive price of 180 Euros, when I arrived it was 250. Being a lonely stupid tourist, I paid it. I then got to enjoy to privilege of sitting at a bar sitting with a number of attractive, but not my type ladies. When I chose the best of the bunch by my eyes, we moved to a private. Once alone, I was informed that the entrance only covered the basic "suck or fuck", round of oral or missionary, and yes this is how they refer to this you can get anywhere in the Red Light District for 50.. If I wanted to kiss - 100 Euros more, daty - 100 Euros more, a second round, well you get the picture. BTW these extra charges were per service.
OK, I've known to be lonely, horny, and stupid, so I handed over a card to cover a couple of the services. This is UPSELLING!!! BTW, this in not the stupidest thing when I've done when the I've let my small head takeover.
As for your petite question, for me it is a matter of height. My Mom is 5', and my sister 4'11'. Neither of them are slim, but they buy in the petite section. To me petite refers to height. Just my opinion, but as other have suggested , your best bet is to post accurate pictures and stats.
