do a search for tipping and you'll get plenty of hits. In addition, independent vs agency also has plenty of threads of its own.

Personally, I don't know why anyone should consider that in terms of services or tipping. Seems to me it should be all about the specific provider, and not if she works for herself or somebody else.

As a newbie, wish some advice as to what others generally do about tipping.  Although the factors involved in when and how much are complex, would appreciate hearing about what others are doing with respect to the following scenarios & what tends to be expected by the provider?  (Yes, nice service of course merits giving a gift or something extra.)
1) massage thru or at an agency:
   a) massage given as described (for example, as described in a TER review)
   b) when extra services/the menu are negotiated during a session, and there is agreement as to the extra contibution - do you add something extra to that in addition?
2) GFE by an independent
3) GFE arranged thru an agency

I don't tip.  I've seen arguments for it from both providers an hobbyists and I'm not convinced.  Not that I've seen providers' tax returns, but I'm sure they make more than waiters and cabbies.

The main argument I've heard is that if you give providers a little extra they're more inclined to give you a little "extra" the next time.  But then you're paying for it aren't you?  Just in advance, that's all.

If you're so inclined, many indie providers have a wishlist on their websites if you want to bring them gifts.

I'm sure the ladies appreciate it, but wouldn't we all?
