The porn community is very competitive and a very active pornstar I see told me its who you know. Not what you can do these days. We live in a video age and videos can always come back to haunt you. Just my opinion.So, I was an escort for 8 years on and off (used to be a different name in my early years then took a hiatus). I considered doing porn but it wasn't a huge priority.
When I was scouted out, I definitely had to think about family, my at-the-time boyfriend's family and job, etc. But eventually I decided to say fuck it and I love it!

I certainly have heard that many porn stars can get a bit entitled and aren't as "service-oriented" once they make a name for themselves. blech. The other thing is that I do find THIS way more rewarding, not just financially but also I love intimacy. But then again, I love the fast pace of performing. Another notable mention is that so many of these old-school porn stars hate on escorts SO hard. Even some newer ones. SO stupid. There just seems to be such a gap between escort and porn and I'm always trying to figure out why!

I agree with you, babe... I don't get why pornstars hate on escorts. A lot of strippers hate on escorts also, but many of them do it. From my understanding you're lucky to get 1500 for a full scene which is about 5 hours or more of shooting... This includes bareback intercourse, cumming in face or mouth or cream pie... If you're making 10K on the scene I say go for it... But I personally think there is better income from being a GFE escort. I have yet to hear of a girl making more than 2K on a scene who isn't a household name like Jenna J or Belladonna. Too many girls are willing to fuck on film or join a cam site.
To me a porno actress who is also an escort should be making at a minimum of 5x her hourly rate. Period. Why? It's out there... FOR EVE R. FOOOOOR. EVVVVVVV. ERRRRRR. where as a date for x/hourly is private and secret for the most part. Nor worth it to me... but to each their own.

The decision to do porn is made at an age that is often too early for full rational analysis. I would think it takes a special person to be able to make a decision of that nature that early on and be good with it for the decades to follow.
