Kershaw has an opt-out option after 5 years. The Dodgers say that if he exercises that option, they are going to let him go.

Kershaw signs 215 million dollar 7yr deal

Doing the Math, that is $30 million per year. So if he has 30 starts in a year, that is $1 mill per start.

Lets say he pitches an avg of 7 innings per start (some cases 6 and some cases 8 or even 9) that's $142,857 per inning. Damn.......;)

I guess this would take Dodgers pretty much out of Tanaka race. Its looking more and more like a toss up between Mariners, Yankees, or Rangers at this point.

I've heard that they are still going after the Japanese guy at all costs. They said its between the Yankees and Dodgers, and his agent has some ties to the Dodgers already! Fucking DEEP POCKETS in LA!

rumor has it they're interested in Tanaka from Japan. With that new Fox cable contract the Dodgers have tons of money.
