New research shows sexsomnia gaining recognition as a legitimate parasomnia. This has been a lifelong issue for me - think TV detective Monk's anguished cry 'Its a blessing...and a curse!'
I'm wondering how many other folks - esp. those more active in the lifestyle (hobbiests/providers, other) - deal with this?

While I don't think the prevalence of sexsomniacs is overwhelmingly large, I can empathize with you if this causes you unwanted problems and impaired relations. I doubt many people like to be awakened by any insistence during deep sleep. On the other hand, if you're newly partnered...mmmm...it could get hot and heavy in the most unexpected manner!

Well I know this happens to me. Sometimes I will wake up on top of my wife having sex and that will be my first awareness of what is going on. And I mean this happens from being asleep. Not that sex is boring and I fall asleep during it and then wake and be like oh when did this start. This has gone on since we have been together. 12 years now. Usually she doesn't object, but she is never sure if I am awake when it starts or not.
A woman at work has stated that her husband has been on top of her jerking off in his sleep before, so I would say it's not as rare as some of you want to think.
