but can't remember where that explained their approach. They run some crazy offense where it isn't uncommon for them to out shoot the other team by double. The head coach is a joke and has stated he has and will go out just to break records. The 138 point game was part of the game plan. The kid didn't just get hot, the entire team was coached to pass to the kid and let him take all the shots. Same with this assist record. I'm sure the plan going in to the game was to make sure the same kid brought the ball up and the rest of the players were instructed to shoot as soon as he passed it to them, or possibly only pass it back. Again, I can't remember where I saw the article but that was the basic story. Makes the records meaningless in my book.

That’s how many assists one Patrick Maher of Grinnell College recorded last night. Needless to say, he broke the NCAA record for assists.

Grinnell College, you may remember, is where Jack Taylor plays, the guy who scored 138 points in a game last year and had a second 100 plus game this year. True, St. Croix was guarding him in  both games but still those are impressive achievements.

But here is the kicker –Taylor wasn’t even playing in the game- he was out with an injury. So the assists were to others on the team.

What I can’t figure out is if these Grinnell guys are just that good, or if the other teams in their league are just that bad. The only thing I know for sure is he wasn't passing to St. Croix.

Who are they playing, Our Lady of No Defense, or Sacred Heart of the Blind? Check out the roster picture of their team below. It looks like Romney's family picture 20 years from now (lol).

I honestly think I could pick 4 of my friends and give them a game. Granted it will take an overdose of Advil with a Jack Daniels chaser. Faith Baptist and College of Faith, really mari. And speaking of religious institutions...Notre Dame 79 Duke 77.
