GO Bengals, Go Packers, Daddy lost his ass yesterday!

And your senses are in order. Got killed on all bets. And I had to listen to my buddy who was saying when we were betting "dude, take the Dogs on wild-card playoffs" Didn't listen and he came through a winner. He just texted me about Seattle and 8 1/2 something next weekend, gotta call him!

Three straight seasons in the post season. Good for the Bengals. Three straight mediocre to poor performances out of Andy Dalton. Bad..... Really bad. They have not won a playoff game since 1990. Awful.

This game today really hurts because it was at home. Everything was in set up perfectly for the Bengals. They were 8-0 at home this season and were playing a team who barely qualified for the post season. I thought the only way for the Chargers to win was to get a brilliant performance from Rivers. Rivers hardly was a factor. The Chargers simply used a solid ground attack and took advantage of Dalton's mistakes. Marvin Lewis is now 0-5 in the post season, with 3 losses at home.

Fairly, or unfairly, QB's are judged how they do in big regular spots and obviously in the post season. (See Tony Romo for proof). While Dalton should be commended for leading the Bengals into the post season the past three years, his playoff performance has been brutal.  When you are the better team, you can't perform like today. It gets you beat every time.

I think Dalton is still the answer at QB. Quite frankly, it would be difficult to replace him and his regular season production with a more reliable option. You need to perform well over the rigors of a 16 game season just to get your team in a position to make the playoffs. Andy Dalton has done that well. However, he has to elevate his game in the post season. Otherwise, the Bengals are going to look at other options.
