Something to consider; KC took you to OT without their starters. You lucked out though because your first opponents match up well with you. B QB's, B- "trenches" and HC's who really should be assistants somewhere

1% chance of making the playoffs and they are in!!!! How cool is that? I am beside myself!!! Anyone else?

I'd rather be lucky than good. Let's see what happens in Cincinnati this weekend.

I have some "free" tickets for a flight to Ohio. I almost have to go. It's just too odd that they got there

That win in Denver a few weeks ago solidified that they were a serious threat to make the post season. Yes, things had to fall into place, but at the end of the day, the Chargers played well enough to get that final spot.

As far as my Steelers, the bottom line is that 8-8 is just not good enough. If you are letting your season come down to Week 17 as to whether the Chiefs "B Team" can defeat the Chargers, chances are you didn't do enough throughout the year to warrant a playoff spot. The Steelers had only one quality win this season (beating the Bengals) and 6 of their 8 losses were to non-playoff teams. They made their own bed.

Next weeks game will be tough. As I said, Andy Dalton really hasn't shown much in big spots. Cincinnati finally gets a home playoff game where they are 8-0 this season. A lot of pressure on the Bengals to finally win in the post season.

99% chance of 1 and out in Cin! The good thing will be we get to see Rivers cry !!! Again!

ou think if they played this game 100 times, the Chargers win once? Are you kidding me? When is the last time the Bengals actually won a playoff game? It was 1990. Are the Bengals suddenly a dominant formidable appointment that can't be conquered? Of course not. There is no history of winning playoff football.

There is a lot of pressure on Dalton and company. He has to show he can deliver in a big spot. Really, there is no excuse for not beating the Chargers.

But as I said, this is the NFL playoffs. Anybody in the post-season could win the Super Bowl. You have to have some talent to survive the rigors of a 16 game season. In case you didn't notice, Rivers had an unbelievable season. He is certainly capable of out-playing Dalton

The NFL has acknowledged that the playoff-bound San Diego Chargers should have been penalized on the final play of regulation in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Referee Bill Leavys crew failed to call a penalty on a missed field goal by the Chiefs. Leavy's crew has made clear mistakes that have affected games at least twice this season. This time it helped the Chargers, writes Eric D. Williams.

Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop missed a 41-yard field goal attempt with four seconds left in regulation, a kick that could have eliminated the Chargers while vaulting the Pittsburgh Steelers into the playoffs.

San Diego beat Kansas City 27-24 in overtime to clinch the AFC's second wild card.

But based on a new rule this season, the Chargers should have been flagged for illegal formation prior to Succop's missed field goal, a 5-yard penalty that would have given Kansas City a 36-yard game-winning attempt.

"On the play, San Diego lined up with seven men on one side of the snapper," the league said in a statement released Monday morning. "This should have been penalized as an illegal formation by the defense."

The rule (Rule 9, Section 1, Article 3) is in relation to the overloading of one side of the formation when defending a field goal. Replays clearly showed the Chargers had seven players lined up on the right side of the defensive formation

The bolts victory in Denver this year was one of the greatest Chargers games I have seen. They do not suck "dude". Allan will be rookie of the year.
