With the recent news of a well known site being hacked into by a 'Hacktivist' group and holding their records over their heads ....

You can never be too careful with the information anyone gives out, even ladies.

A separate e-mail, private browser, separate computer, and even changing passwords often is of no help if you leave the browser open, computer unattended ....    All it takes is a quick glance at it from a SO.

With that said, all of what was said in OP is something which everyone who have a SO should adhere to strictly to the point of an OCD.

Personally I use a separate E-Mail and IM to distinguish between the real life and this one, and I try to double check the correct e-mail account I send e-mails from too.

Any electronic medium message are kept for years even after they are sent and deleted from yours and recipient's folders / trash.  Hard drive / storage is  cheap and better compression algorithms are developed yearly.  The 'only' way left to keep things 'private' is snail mail, even then it may get lost or misdirected.

The next best way to keep things a 'secret' is to attend a m&g and exchange information directly and discretely.

How many of you erase or delete incriminating emails and other records
 relating to the hobby?
Do you have a separate hobby email, or private browser?  I hope you change
 your passwords often.
Separate computer
Password on I phone?
I can imagine a suspicious wife logging into your accounts, or or checking
>> your appointments. Lol
Even a trusting person can stumble upon your nefarious "other life".
Please
Don't go to the bathroom and leave TER, on an open page.
Carfull with I phone..
I usually eared records after 2 years or keep pm so I can help with references..
Be safe

....but I never get complacent. I don't have a separate computer or browser or even a hobby phone. It make me super vigilant in maintaining my privacy from my SO and everyone else. I NEVER dabble in any hobby activities while at work - that would be suicidal for me. I think with some common sense, a lot of research, and never letting your guard down can go far in being able to communicate effectively in this world without compromising privacy.

Establish rules and NEVER EVER NERVER vary them. I ALWAYS put my hobby phone in the same place - the least likely place for my SO to find it.  Whenever I even think about not putting it back, I kick myself in the ass and put it back.  I keep a separate email account and ALWAYS log out and ALWAYS delete the browser history after use - ALWAYS!  When I get lazy and think I can get away with it, another kick to my own ass and delete and log out.

This of course does not guarantee 100% security! But it gets you as close as possible.  NEVER violate the rules you have put in place.  NEVER.  RT

How this guy did forget a similar website page open (similar to TER) and wife found out and also found out log in and so she logged in for a whole month regularly and learned everything husband was doing… at the time he was asking on forum help to find his number 100 girl to meet and review!!! needless to say it all ended up in  disastrous divorce and guess what he kept logging in asking advice on divorce process… all of that was used in court. A truly sad story!

This btw, was all over that website. I am not sheering something I was told in confidence, otherwise I would not have shared it here.

just really sad because I knew the guy and to fair he is a nice man :(
