Seattle hasn't clinched anything (other than a playoff spot) entering week 17

f Seattle wins, they are the #1 seed. However, Seattle can fall to the #5 seed if they don't win the NFC West:

1. Carolina can clinch home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with a win and a Seattle loss and SF win.

2. San Francisco can clinch the NFC West division title and home-field advantage with a win and a Seattle loss and a Carolina loss.

At this point, no NFC divisions have been determined (all four in the AFC have) entering Week 17. Only Carolina, Seattle and San Francisco have clinched playoff spot

like the pick of the litter currently-good on both sides of the ball and home field advantage throughout the playoffs-Don't see the AFC REP-whoever that is-hanging with them-
But if an Ice Bowl occurs, which is certainly possible-any thing could happen-Having the SB in NY in the dead of winter wasn't the greatest of ideas IMHO-1rob...hoping all are having a wonderful Christmas and great times for the holidays....out

Too many unanswered variables to give even an educated guess. The combination of Manning-Welker/Manning-Decker could easily shut down Seattles 3-2-2 defense. Just keep the safties deep and Denver can move down the field while also controlling the clock, keeping Seattles offense off the field.

Honestly, until the brackets/seeds come out, who's to even guess. I have SF meeting Seattle in the NFC Championship. Denver/NE in the AFC. The chips may fall on the home field concerning SB reservations. After that, the team who runs the ball, or can connect with the 10yd slants, the best should be victorious

But what do I know, I'm only 71% on my NFL wagers, this yr. The week I tried every game brought down my winning percentages(a word CoC just loves) :)

Will win the Superbowl "IF" Peyton Manning stays healthy and "IF" they avoid DREW BREES!!!

Peyton Manning is the "GREATEST" nfl player ever and I can't see anyone beating him except the Saints who never lose in the Dome!

I like the 71% reference lol not to shabby. I don't know my percentage.. but I do know it's been one remarkable and profitably year!

Seattle hasn't even clinched the division yet let alone home field.  If the Seahawks lose to the Rams and the 49ers beat Arizona, the 49ers win the division and Seattle is a wild card team. In that case the Panthers will have home field if they win; the 49ers will have it if Carolina loses.

BTW, Seattle's run game has been anemic the last few weeks. If they can't get Lynch going they won't win. As good as Russell Wilson is he can't carry that offense alone

They will certainly need it to beat the Niners, who I believe are the 2nd best team in the league-Denver has a great offense with Peyton and plays well at home-but win it all and away from the Mile High City-CoC--excuse me while I scoff   8-)

The worst thing that could happen Saints vs Denver Superbowl.

I have a rule never bet against Manning or Brees so If that happens I will not wager on the Superbowl.. with that said i think someone will knock the Saints off, but I can't see anyone beating Denver if Manning stays healthy except the Saints!

I've already seen three teams beat Denver in the regular season  . I don't see Denver going far in the play offs .
Health is often controlled by state of mind . Manning's healthy state of mind is usually  gone ,
when play off time rolls around .

No crystal ball needed to see that .

The AFC is full of Garbage teams.

The only team that's worth a grain of salt besides Denver is Kansas City.

Denver is going to the Superbowl barring an injury to Peyton Manning

Patriots , Colts , or  Chiefs , and I am not forgetting  , on the mat , but not out Ravens .

Fact of  life :  Manning has lost in play offs too many times  when he was healthy .   Relatively speaking,  at the end of regular season , at his age he is never as healthy as many younger quarterbacks .

With Manning's choke factor in play offs as the main  feature , I give the  Steelers the same odds as Denver making it to the Superbowl .  :-D

  Good Luck .

ing into the playoffs last year, if you had asked me to rank the teams from most likely to win the Super Bowl, to least likely, I would have ranked them as follows: Denver, New England, Atlanta, Green Bay, 49er's, Washington, Texans, Ravens, Seattle, Bengals, Colts and Vikings.  In my mind, I didn't think the Ravens had a chance of even getting to the Super Bowl, let alone winning it all.

It is just too hard to predict the NFL playoffs. From the Packer dynasty (mid to late 60's) to the end of the 1990's (with Denver winning their two Super Bowls), it was MUCH easier to narrow the field of potential Super Bowl winners. The elite teams were just that; "elite".  Those teams that had byes (# 1 and # 2 seeds) probably won over 75% of the time in the Divisional round. They were clearly better than the other teams in the post season. In most cases those top two seeds were going to the Super Bowl. Usually your winner came amongst them,

The last 10-15 years, have become a post season crap shoot. Teams can (and do) win three road games (2005 Steeler, 2007 Giants as examples) to get to the Super Bowl and then ultimately win it all. As they say, it's not how you play in October/November, but how you are playing going into the post season that counts.

Right now, in the NFC, the three teams playing the best football are the Panthers, 49er's and Eagles (but the Eagles may not make the playoffs, so let's leave them out for now). Seattle's unique home field advantage (even if the Hawks are bad, it’s still tough to play there) would make it difficult on a visiting team to win a playoff game there. Assuming Seattle gets home field (and they still have to secure it in week 17), I still like them going to the Super Bowl. I can see the 49er's winning in Seattle, but hard to predict anyone else. The Panthers are talented, but its Cam's first post season. The Saints could have gone to the SB....if they had home field throughout. They have been an awful road team this year.

In the AFC, your initial reaction would be to peg either Denver or New England (as they should both secure top seeds). Both the Bengals and Colts have yet to show they can win a big game. The Bengals will finally get a chance to have a home playoff game. Big spot for Andy Dalton. I like the Colts but their inconsistency can drive you nuts. I can see them reaching the Super Bowl or getting blown out at home in the first round. The Chiefs are talented, and their offense has been better lately, but can they keep up with Denver/New England in playoffs?  I just can't logically see any of the mediocre teams fighting for the 6th seed making it to the Super Bowl

So my Super Bowl prediction, sure to go wrong, will be New England v. Seattle!
