"The bike, ridden by James Hillier, achieved an incredible top speed on one of the straights: 206 mph or 331 km/h which made it the fastest bike ever to take part. He didn’t break the lap record, though, as corners were taken at a more leisurely pace."

The annual Isle Of Mann motorcycle TT race is held on two lane public roads. No gravel "run-outs", no high tech energy absorbing barriers. Just public highway with all the blotchy pavement, mail boxes, tree lined, steel guard rail, cement curbed perils regularly found on roads designed for sub sixty mile per hour public traffic.

Moto-GP is great; but IOM is spiritual!

I also think it's slightly insane/a death wish, but it sure is amazing to watch!! :D
I went to Pro Italia and caught some GP today while buying a new jacket; wish I'd seen Hillier hit this record! Thanks for sharing!

Pro Italia has a small showroom at Newcomb's Ranch up on SR2 Angeles Crest Highway. I like your style. For me it's a Dainese two piece leathers with matching boots and gloves. ATGATT!

Speeds like that on otherwise public roads does pin the rev limiter at "insane / death wish"; but that is what gives it that "spiritual" sense. Even 9 time Moto-GP World champion Valentino Rossi has the deepest respect and genuine awe for these competitors.

  Good vid HD, thanks!

In my younger, more reckless days (heh) before I had three pooches to consider and all my friends either started racing or stopped riding. BeatPoet (or another intrepid coordinator!) still needs to organize a TER ride/cruise! I'm down to co-host! :D
