Do you at least get the message that your post is received and under review?...

If not, then something could be technically wrong.

In any case, you can always state your case to someone in management.

Go to the "contact us" icon at the upper right hand side of the screen and click it to send a message.

I have found that they respond within a day or so and often get very satisfactory results.

I have been on here for a little bit, and i am having trouble posting messages on the general discussion board.  I can reply to a post that someone else has made but everytime i try and post a new topic it doesn't show up, ever.  I have read the posting rules and nothing that i have tried to post seems violate these rules, what should i do?

As a newbie, your posts are moderated. It takes a day or so for your messages to show up.

As Tokai said new participants are moderated until the mods get to know that you aren't going to spam the site or flame, or be as immature as I am...  :-)

TER is pretty resonable so far a taboo topics, which are covered in the rules.  So just hang in there.

If you seem unable to find your posts after a few days (give the mods a break, they do have to sleep and even take a weekend off to hobby occasionally) what you might try is a "search" under the "author name" and see if you just missed it somehow.

Welcome, and don't get frustrated.

Best,
TS Jamie :-)

I waited about a year with multiple reviews and some posted replies her and there and then asked the moderator of my regional board to un-moderate me.

Within 24 hours I was un-moderated on not only my regional board but here and on General Discussion as well.

yea, it says that the message has been recieved and it will take a day or two to post after the moderator looks at it, ill try one more time and then ill try the contact us, thanks

is to make sure that "flamefests" do not appear on "their board."  Therefore, newbies are moderated.  This means that until the "board moderator" has time to review your post, it is not added.  Dependent upon their availability, it could mean a lag of several hours to several days.  Moderators are not employees and perform their functions when they can.

I received this info from the moderator of one of the regional boards when I asked about "who was moderated and how they become unmoderated" as I was fortunate enough to become unmoderated without asking, early on.  The best advice is to stay clear of any board drama.  Once you have developed a positive track record of posting, send a PM to the individual board moderator requesting "unmoderated" status.  The moderator's name appears on the top of the board.  Usually they will unmoderate you.  But, keep in mind, they can always revoke those unmoderated priviledges if they feel your posts are out of line.

Good luck!

If only your new topic are not appearing, then it does not sound like you are bieng moderated otherwise all your posts would have a delay in showing up on the board.

PM the Moderator (The GirlNextDoor) maybe she can shed some light on the subject.

Good Luck

Atter a period of time of non-flaming posts, reviews posted under your name if you are a lady or posted by you if you are a hobbyist, and a comfort level by the board moderator, you will be able to post and have your message appear right away.  Until then, stay out of TER jail.

I know that i am moderated, its just that whenever i posted a reply it was there in a day, I was only having problems posting new topics.  Thanks for your help everyone

How many approved posts does it take before you no longer need to be moderated?

It is the mods of the regional boards who decide when to unmoderate someone.  Their rules do vary.  Sorry I can't help more,
