Yeah, but look at the Big Picture

You and your obscure e-mails to some ASP (Adult Service Provider) is just the proverbial drop in the bucket.  I’m assuming these e-mails are within the confines of the US, yes/no?  The shear tremendous volume of e-mail traveling back and forth through the internet gives many effective anonymity.  LE and intelligence agencies at the local and national level don’t have that many people and resources to snoop around every one of the millions and millions of e-mails every day.  Unless you are a suspected terrorist or major criminal I would say you are pretty much lost in the crowd of cyber babble.  The sophisticated algorithms the likes of which the NSA or FBI uses to check on some e-mails I don’t think you have to worry about too much unless you are say sending and receiving to IP addresses overseas—especially the Middle East, Russia, China and like and/or are using certain key words in your e-mails like “Bomb”, “Weapons, “and so on.

I was told our emails to the ladies even though through web mail-Yahoo, Hot mail can be traced!
Is that true?
How can that be avoided

Granted, you probably don't like others knowing your every move, but why would  "big bro" care what you're up to specifically?  Are you a politician, clergyman, or elementary school teacher?

For the most part, nobody (among those with the ability to look) really gives a rat's ass who you're communicating with.  Escorts aren't part of our wing-nut president's axis of evil, at least not yet.

Yes it is true, it can be read by people who have the know-how to get them.

It can't be avoided, if anyone comes up with a way to stop something, another will come up with a way to bypass it. I am reminded of a story of the Australian government spending lots of money on some computer security something or other (can't remember exactly) and within a day of it being active a teenage kid broke through it.

No one is going to come pounding on your door because of steamy emails.

Welcome to America!
I’ve seen the other replies, and agree that unless you've already been targeted as an "enemy combatant" (in which case your ass is grass alredy anyway) you'll probably get lost in the ocean of cyber space.
Not that it doesn't piss me off about the irony, hypocrisy, and abuse that our rights in this country have taken, but it is what it is.
