I don't really care for the reason unless it's something I can repair (more references or whatever), there's not a lot of upside for them to explain - at best they get a thanks, at worst they get an earful of butt hurt.

a reason may be that your references said bad things or you are BLed. I do not know you, I am speaking in general. Or you could have said something inappropriate.
I've been trying to see someone that lives close to me and would like to make it a regular thing. Her thing with me so far is I've seen no one local. There's no one local I've found I've wanted to see or timing is off. She says all the girls I see are from out of town. You could analyze this question to no end and still be stumped. Next time, try giving a provider the date you need to firm up your plans so you can quickly move on if she doesn't respond in the time allowed
