Egads, focker2,

The stuff you boys come up with! Well, a researcher in Poland actually subjected males to sauna exposure and measured their levels of cortisol [stress hormone] and testosterone during exposure. He actually got a concentration of plasma testosterone increase during a 1 hour exposure [my God, who sits in a sauna for an hour, unless the temperature doesn't exceed a pleasant afternoon in Palm Springs!] but that magnitudes depended on fluid ingestion.

Now I'm not a physician, so please do not use my posting as gospel in this regard. I do think it's interesting, however, that plasma levels of testosterone increased. Maybe that's where "hot-blooded" types get their moxie from? Who knows. What we do know, however, is that if you are trying to get your sperm count up, don't sit around in hot rooms or wear tight pants. Keep your family jewels in boxers and keep 'em cooool....

Any docs in the know out there?

I have a question that I need answered fairly soon.  Like everyone else, I love to relax anyway and every way I can.  I belong to a club right across the street from where I live.  I go there all the time, sometimes to workout, but mostly to shower, shave and hit my favorite 2 rooms, the hot room (close to a sauna) and the steam room.  I have a serious high tolerence for heat.  I can stay in the hot room for 30 minutes, read the paper, dripping sweat, jump in/out of the pool then sit/lie down in the steam room for another 20-30 minutes.  My brother can barely handle it for 10 minutes combined.  I'm a little concerned because I have heard that this intake (I do it at least 4-5 times a week, can lower your testosterone,  Is this true?  I guess anything is bad if you do it too much.  I'm 30 years old and know I can't do certain things like I used to.  I guess I'm just wondering if I need to slow down on the sauna/steam intake, if its harming me in any way in the long run.  The last thing I want it to do is to lower my testoserone level cause I'm like every other guy, without an erection, life is a scary thought...  Thanks...
