OK, has anyone tried Ashley Madison and had good experiences?  I tried this and it is a very odd scene.  Seems like most of the women are scamming but I'm not sure if they are "providers" or something different altogether.  I'd actually be OK with it if I could tell if it was a legit provider looking for hobbyists (maybe that is asking too much there).  There are some real, non-professional women, and I did have one decent meeting, but it is like 99-1.  Thoughts, experiences??

With AM a couple a while ago, it was interesting to see providers advertise there. Makes sense as guys are looking for NSA encounters. Had a couple of conversations with ladies on AM but never had a date. Decided hobbying made more sense, as its unambiguous and the outcome is predetermined.

Fake ads.  People hardly ever online.

Agree that it's a waste of time and money.

The women are vastly outnumbered by the men so they get a ton of email - probably much more than they expected at first and they get overwhelmed. After awhile on the board they get pretty complacent about their choices, so unless you look great, have a lot of money and a lot of time, and are a spectacular writer, then you're probably not going to do well. I've read one or two women saying this right up front on reddit.

There are some providers, but they try to be clever with their names and contact info which ends up looking sketchy. It also makes them look like beginners, or like they're trying to lure the guys who are non-hobbyists into something.

A few are looking for sugar daddies. I've been hit up by a few of those. I once got a long sad story from one woman who was in her mid 40s with a couple of kids, husband had left her, mother had medical problems, she had to make the mortgage, etc. I thought about advising her to go on TER, but the whole thing was just too unbelievable.

If you're just looking for a sure-thing nice time with a nice lady I think the hobby is a far better place. (Even a medium time with a provider is better than the time and expense you'll spend in trying for an attached woman who's looking for a guy on the side.
