The Outdoors; Kyra Visits DC Oct. 5-7
"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
― Albert Camus
Today I took a walk through High Park, a large park in Toronto, stopping to watch both the people and animals that were out enjoying a late summer day. I could see the first few leaves starting to change and when the wind picked up I could feel a fall chill through the air. With the children back to school the park was quiet and it was enjoyable. I stretched out, enjoyed an hour of yoga in a little patch of sun before moving on in search of a tea. Last winter I spent a good deal of time battling the weather, snowed in airports and dealing with road closures. This year I'm hoping to find a way to embrace the weather, to spend as much outdoor time in the fall as I can and then hopefully rediscover a few winter sports where I just might find myself looking forward to the snowfall instead of hiding from it. Of course if that means I end up in a chalet sipping red wine in front of a fireplace failing at yet another attempt at skiing so be it.
What are your plans for the end of the season? Will you be enjoying the outdoors with your favourite companion? I will be visiting Dupont Circle from Oct. 5-7 and would enjoy the opportunity to embrace the fall weather with you. Please contact me or my assistant Sandi at the email below should you be interested in spending a little quality time together. [email protected]
