It was a no brainer for the Colts

ou can't worry about injuries. Trent Richardson may play the next 10 years and never miss a game or, his injury problems of the past season may plague him forever. Who knows.

This was an absolutely terrific trade for the Colts. They secured a franchise running back for the next 5-7 years. Couple that with a QB who seemingly is headed to stardom and some nice young complementary offensive pieces and the Colts are headed upward. Assuming they finish between 8-8 and 10-6, the draft pick is mid-level. (And besides, whether you are picking #1 or picking # 32, the draft is a crap shoot as is) It's a deal the Colts had to make if they have plans of joining the NFL elite over the next several years.

I know what the Browns are trying to do, but they just had 2 first round picks last year. They traded up in the draft (giving up several draft picks in the process) to get Richardson and the selected Weeden at QB in the latter part of the first round. Weeden's days in Cleveland are seemingly numbered,. Now they go into the 2014 draft again looking for a franchise QB and now, a franchise running back. You can't waste fist round draft picks. Obviously, this new regime in Cleveland had no loyalty toward either Weeden or Richardson and they wanted to go in another direction. It's a shame for their fan base to have to endure yet again more turnover and turmoil.

Cleveland traded Richardson to Indianapolis for the Colts' 1st round 2014 draft pick. How did Richardson find out? He got a phone call from a buddy, then heard it on the radio. Good job Cleveland! In addition, the Browns are starting third-stringer Brian Hoyer at quarterback this week because Brandon Weeden has a sprained thumb. Looks like Cleveland is already lining up for next year's overall Number 1 pick!

WHY IN THE HELL???? trent was a first round pick just a year and a half ago. he was playing well. he played through injuries, with no wrs to open things up, with no qb to scare the defense...he was easily the best player on that offense, maybe 2nd best on the team to joe haden ( shameless florida gator plug). what is Cleveland thinking? who is gonna run the ball halfway effectively now? chris ogboyanna? montario hardesty? willis mcgahee?...oh boy...

as for the colts, Andrew luck just died and went to heaven. from vick ballard to trent Richardson. wayne and Hilton get open more with a safety in the box. trent will get room to run with a good qb and 2 good wrs working the outside...maybe this just saved the season.

and I STILL don't think Cleveland is as bad as Jacksonville. but the second pick could bring in Tajh Boyd. not a bad runner up prize.

but the reall matter at hand, did the colts just become the best good young team in football? I cant imagine a team with a better young offense than Andrew luck, trent Richardson, ty Hilton, Dwayne allen and coby fleener, all of whom are second year pros. find one more wr for when wayne retires and watch out. it could be peyton/wayne/Harrison/james/clark all over again. and to get him for just 1 1st round pick...a pick that will be somewhere between 14-20 at that. damn Cleveland, god really does hate you guys.

I'm thinking they enjoy being a doormat.

At least their unis are still cool.
