so the Dodger "pool" celebration has been getting a lot of air time, it's certainly getting a lot of people upset. Me, I could care less, if the D'backs had taken care of business and won this series, there'd be nothing to talk about.

I'm not saying I'd be right or justified.... But, c'mon! Where was Gibby? WTF? No wonder they are the definition of mediocre. If I owned that team I'd do a Marlins on them all!

Imagine if Gibson, Rose, Brett or Cobb saw that go down????

I bet even Dale Murphy and Orel Hersheiser would have been throwing knuckles!

In baseball when unwritten rules are broken there are always consequences. This will be one of those times. Some Dodger hitter next year will pay for this the next time they play. I am not going to argue whether it's right or wrong, just that that's the way it is in baseball, somone us going to get plugged intentionally, the message will be sent and life will go on.

Players basically police their sport to a degree, except for the occasional fine from management. Of course if you're the one sitting in the dugout, and one of your teammates just stole 2nd base in the 9th inning of a 10-2 game, you're going to be pretty pissed off if you're the guy that gets a 98 mph in the back tomorrow.

So Jose Fernandez of the Marlins, a rookie pitcher no less, hits a home run against Atlanta in the 6th inning back on the 11th of Sept. Fernandez spent a few extra seconds admiring his home run. Rumor has it that Brian McCann's comment to Fernandez went something like, "hey, what are you looking at, run mother fucker". Atlanta didn't retaliate, but you can guarantee that baseball players have a long memory. So next season, Fernandez won't get hit, but some poor utility player is going to get hit, and it's going to hurt.

except for the guy who actually fucked up. Peer pressure is a great way of influencing behavior, make a guy the most despised guy in the clubhouse and you've definitely gotten your message across.

and yes you have to feel sorry for the guy who steps up to the plate KNOWING he is about to get plunked by that 98 mph fastball for something he had nothing to do with, but that's baseball. lol
